Athena The Goddess of Wisdom
This build is mostly for premade teams with 2 to 5 players.
More info added, more to come, will keep updating
Pros
- Good Burst Damage.
- Good Escape with Preemptive Strike.
- Ulti can be a very effective save.
- Good Sustain
Cons
- Not strong in 1v1 (in my opinion)
- Ulti must be timed very precisely to be effective
- Low early game damage
- Skill Dependant
- Tank
- She has very high cooldowns
- More CDR for her skills and more tanky
- For that little extra damage
- More damage and more tanky versus mages and the aura is nice
- Becouse of her passive with the ranged basic attack
Athena is in my opinion not a good engager, she is very effective when teamed up with a God like Thor.
Ex 1.
Thor uses his ultimate to dive in on the enemy team whilst Athena then dives in with her ultimate reducing Thor's damage taken by 50% for the dive duration.
Ex 2.
Ymir can use Blink to close the gap to the enemy and then freeze them, Athena should be ready to use her ultimate when Ymir blinks and when the enemy is frozen by Ymir, Athena lands on them dealing damage and using her Shield Wall ability and directly after that taunt the enemy with Confound.

I'm with Jararo this guide shouldn't exist in the first place and I'm down for there being a 3 day wait period on any new god put out so this sort of thing does happen.

Yes we have tryed this out, it works for us, and sorry if we are steaming you'r beans for being the first one and this early. It was not our intent to be first, we just found something that worked and wanted to share it with other players, yes it was a bit too rushed, more content will drop in, it was very late for me when i made this with my friend, he is as im typing this trying out more builds that may or may not work, more time will be put down on the guide as time passes and builds will be tryied out.
Did you just make a guide after Athena has been out for less than 24 hours... no.
I'm not even giving you the time of the day, you DO NOT MAKE A GUIDE THIS EARLY!
First of all, welcome to SmiteFire. Unfortunately, you have been found by me.
I hate guides like these. You do not know Athena and therefore you should not have a guide on her. It is unprofessional and the only thing it shows is that you really wanted to have the first guide.
However, since you already posted the thing, at least do us a favor and add some content!
Did you actually take the time to see how effective that build was? Or if there were better choices? I'm guessing not.
To anyone else that sees this, if I see another guide like this on Athena, I will rage.
