Essentials (read notes)

Notes These are items that I deem essential to every Atlas build.

Sentinels is his best starter. Easy gold gain, and I've found this to be better than benevolence. Your upgrade is your choice, but I prefer boon because it allows you to stay in fights for longer. I will probably explain this better somewhere else.

Breastplate and Pridwen are interchangeable, but I think you really need one of them. Mostly for the cdr, but the mana from breastplate is really good. If you prick up pridwen instead, then I would suggest getting one of the mp5 magic defense items. I prefer talisman, but if they have a lot of magic damage, get amulet for your team.

Relic dagger grants cdr for relics which is very important on atlas, and it also gives 10% cdr for abilities. Not bad.

Shell is the relic i pick up 90% of the time. It's great for helping your team.

Why Sentinels Boon? (read notes)

Notes I really like Boon on aggressive Gods, and thats exactly what Atlas is. Atlas' value really shines the longer he can stay alive. Constantly applying slows, and displacing the enemy is his entire kit, and ofc landing the best ults of your career.

With Boon you can briefly fall back to farm some minions and regain 24% max health with a single wave.

Your upgrade is your choice but I really prefer Boon.

Atlas's Skill Order Notes I've seen many different level orders for Atlas so its really personal preference. Atlas skills dont get better cds (besides the 1 which we max first anyway) with levels so do what feels right for you.

I pick and max the 1 first cause it very easy to confirm damage, and the slow scales with ranks.

Get the 2 on level 2 for the pressure and kill potential. Max this last because it doesnt need levels to get max value. The damage doesn't matter either since the 3 is easier to get damage out of, and does more if you don't hit both parts of the 2.

Get 3 third, and max out after the 1. The bonus movement speed increases with level, and so does the damage. The damage from the 3 is way easier to get than the 2.

The ult should be maxed whenever you can since everything benefits from it.

Atlas throws his Astrolabe to a target location, damaging and slowing enemies where it lands. While deployed, his Basic Attack will cause an explosion at the target area that damages all enemies and trigger Basic Attack item effects. This explosion deals 50% damage to Minions and costs 5 Mana to use. After 5s or when he re-fires this ability, the Astrolabe will return to him. Atlas' second ability changes based on whether his Astrolabe is deployed or held.

Ability Type: Circle
Damage: 50 / 85 / 120 / 155 / 190 (+40% of your Magical Power)
Slow: 20 / 22.5 / 25 / 27.5 / 30%

Gravity Pull

Gravity Pull

2 A
Atlas pulls enemies towards his Astrolabe. Enemy gods who are too close get pulled into the Astrolabe. If Atlas is holding the Astrolabe he becomes immune to knockups, and enemies who get pulled into the Astrolabe get held in front of Atlas. After a brief delay, the held targets get launched in the direction Atlas is facing. If Atlas has thrown the Astrolabe, enemies who get pulled into the Astrolabe will get held at the Astrolabe’s location before being launched towards Atlas.

Ability Type: Cone / Circle
Pull Damage: 50 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 (+35% of your Magical Power)
Launch Damage: 50 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 (+35% of your Magical Power)

Kinetic Charge

3 B
Atlas charges forward, damaging minions and cleansing himself of slows. Each allied god he charges near will have their burdens removed, cleansing them of any current slows and increasing their movement speed. While Atlas is charging, he is immune to slows and knockups. When Atlas collides with an enemy god he will release accumulated burdens in an explosion, slowing enemies in a 15 unit radius. For every burden accumulated, the slow is increased by 25% up to a maximum of 75%.

Ability Type: Line
Damage: 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 / 280 (+40% of your Magical Power)
Movement Speed: 25 / 27.5 / 30 / 32.5 / 35%

Gamma-Ray Burst

Gamma-Ray Burst

4 Y
Atlas tears the sky asunder and calls forth a Gamma-Ray Burst. Enemies in this area are hit every 0.5s and gain a stack of Radiation. Radiation can stack up to 5/5/6/6/7 times and lowers the enemy's Protections and Power. After 5s or upon re-fire the Gamma-Ray Burst will focus in power and begin traveling across the battleground. Enemies hit by this focused ray take heavier damage and gain Focused Radiation, lowering Protections and Power equal to 3 stacks of Radiation.

Ability Type: Circle, Debuff, Damage
Damage: 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 / 65 (+10% of your Magical Power)

Ability Overview

Unburden This ability has quite a few purposes attached to it. It is great poke, good early game damage, easy to apply cc, and good zoning. It has great range, and the cooldown is short with cdr, so lob this whenever the chance arises. The slow is very valuable so when you have nothing up, you can always use this to get some value on the table. Remember the mind games that this ability has. People will stray from the area that this is deployed on because they dont wanna get pulled. You can easily funnel enemies with this ability, so use it wisely. When retreating, throw this at the floor, and pop your 2 for self peel.

Gravity Pull This ability is very strong, and one of the best support cc abilities in the game. It however, is easy to mess up so make sure you use it right. A lot of your value is tied to this ability. This is your pressure, your only hard cc, your setup, and your peel tied into one ability. If you miss, you will suffer for it. When laning, you this ability to demand respect. Depening on your adc, 1 pull could result in a kill.

Kinetic Charge This right here is one of your most important abilities depending on their matchup. DO NOT underestimate the value of this dash. Make sure you save it for any major slows the enemy has so you can save your team. With this ability your are your teams engage and disengage. Speed them up for aggression, and save it to counter slows when you want to retreat. Designate a target before that you wanna dump the burdens on. 75% slow is absurd so make sure you apply it to people.

Gamma-Ray Burst This ultimate gets used incorrectly by many people. You should NOT be popping this on squishies only. Your main target for this ult are the tanks. Shred their prots so your team can take them out quickly. Look for big ults. Remember they dont have to stay in the ult forever. You only need 7 ticks to hit the max, but the focused burst is equal to 3 and stacks on top of the 7. This ult is good counter engage as well. Pop it on an ally when the enemy commits to them. They either stay in and do less damage and take more, or they back off. Pop this on fire and gold for the shred.

Ending

Atlas is a great support in smite. His concept is cool, his visuals are cool, hes not cringey, and hes VERY fun to play.

He's easy to pickup, but has good nuance to him, and learning him properly can lead to you dominating games with mere presence alone.

I hope this guide was helpful for you guys, and thanks for reading!
