Intro

Firstly, this is just a build, not a guide. So here we have an unconventional build for Poseidon - Attack speed. I find Poseidon fairly dull to play in the usual way of a burst mage, abilities are quite boring and easy. Don't get me wrong, he's one of the most powerful AoE gods, i just prefer this build on him to spice things up a little!

Obviously, I level my 2 first as I'm using basic attacks as my main source of damage, my 1 second for some extra damage and keep my 3 last to keep it low on mana for utility. Fatalis and demonic grip are key to the build, I built polynomicon early in the video example because I wanted some more sustain, usually i would build it last. Often I will build Telkhine's Ring into it somewhere but in a lot of cases gem of isolation is too useful to pass up.

This build isn't particularly powerful which is why I opt for shoes of the magi over focus as he needs some penetration and Rod of Tahuti to give him a boost. Winged blade is another fun item on him for the movement speed, with fatalis, boots, his 2 and sprint all active you can outrun anyone!

Hope you enjoy this unorthodox build. Play with it and let me know what you think.

Pros/Cons

Pros

+Movement speed can potentially be just silly
+Good CC with cripple, knock-up and stun (+gem of isolation)
+Good utility - Demonic grip debuff can be very quickly applied
+Passive meter fills up quickly
+Fun to play

Cons

-Low damage
-Easily burst down if caught in crowd control
-Enfeebling Curse and Witchblade kind of ruin everything
-If the gimmick doesn't work then you're just a weak link on your team

Video example

Summary

This is a great build for poking the enemy team and for chasing fleeing opponents. once you have hit someone with a basic attack and your fatalis passive kicks in, used your 2, it is hard to not land your basic attacks. You can almost literally run circles around them! It's not a serious build but it does catch out and surprise them.

Poly is a bad choice for attack speed Poseidon. It only processes if you hit your target with the middle of the trident shots. So if you use your 2, only the middle hit processes, and if you hit with one of the two outside shots, you lose the poly attack.
