This is my first guide for Smite, and I will be discussing how to play Bakasura, who is mainly a jungling character.
Pro's
So, Essential Items
Hand of the Gods
Any Jungler will immediately pick this up, it's hands down the best item in the game currently even for laners and is required for early game jungling
Warrior Tabi
To be ganking and swapping lanes effectively the Speed boost is very nice, it also gives some early game stats, some guides argue that the Devourer's Gloves should be bought first, but this only allows you a single potion, and for the full effect you need to gain stacks, which aren't as easy to come by so early on.
Devourer's Gloves
This is really dependent on how well you are doing, if you aren't getting last hits on mobs at this point, or if you are finding it hard to lane against your opponent, for example they are two mages then maybe pass this item, but you should getting this item to level 3 around about the 13 mark.
Frostbound Hammer
Lovely piece of gear for Bakasura who will probably be chasing people quite a bit for the kill, if you are having trouble landing that kill maybe put this ahead of DG's
Soul Eater
This is where item builds get hazy, by this stage it will be fairly late game, and you should be buying based on what you currently need, for example a sprint might be useful here or Prismatic Beads. But I like Soul Eater here as you will be getting into team fights more often, so a couple of aura items aren't a bad thing.
The Executioner
Often I will buy this for the physical protection debuff, making it great for taking out strong melee characters like Ymir and Sobek, though it's a situational item, if your opponents aren't building physical defence I'd recommend dropping it.
Other Items worth buying
Fatalis
This is the last item, mainly for the attack speed though having a passive cooldown reduction is nice as in this stage of the game you probably won't be going for buffs as much but instead playing teamfights.
Ability Items
Worth it
Girdle Of Might
This is a great item for Bakasura, as his damage is mostly burst having that power buff can really help.
Prismatic Beads
Worth it for the escapes, CC is heavy in Smite and for a squishy champion like Bakasura can mean an almost instant death if you are grabbed by Anubis' Mummify, Arachne's web or Artemis' boar or any other stun. If your enemy team doesn't have great CC ability, or doesn't use it well though it can be bypassed, for things like traps and Hades / Odin's abilities your jump works just as well as Beads.
Creeping Curse
An aoe slow on enemy champions, good for pursuing, however many champions have similar abilities already so, not always a good choice however for soloing it's great
Sprint
Good for chasing, but best used for escaping, often if Bakasura is trapped in the jungle or in an empty lane he can be killed due to a lack of minions, so I usually pick it up to escape trouble, rather than find it.
Aegis Amulet
Not terribly useful for Bakasura, it gives 2s of immunity but usually just prolongs your death, Prismatic Beads or Sprint are much more useful for an immediate escape
The rest abilities are fairly useless in my opinion.
Jungling in Smite isn't exactly the same as other MOBA's like HoN, LoL or DOTA as you cannot do it full time.
In Smite a full time jungler will fail, the maps simply too small and respawn timers are too long, so most people will jungle mostly on the left, venturing into the lane to clear minion waves or gank enemy Gods, this changes the role of a jungler, as he's expected to push towers and minions whilst also grabbing useful buffs and swapping lanes.
For Bakasura this is easier however, this is due to two things, his Eat Minion Ability, meaning much faster clears of jungle camps at early level and also his speed in swapping lanes means that he can gank and be back quicker than most characters.
Starting off Jungling I'd recommend going 1 Left, 1 Mid and 2 Right, similar to most Meta's, the Jungler will then be able to take buffs on the left, whilst also helping the solo player push. The first buff you should grab is the blue mana buff, located in the bottom left of your lane, towards the centre. This increases mana regeneration, and now is your best bet seeing as the health buff has been moved to the right.
Watch out though because you will often see enemy trying to counter you at blue, and as at level 1 you only have Eat Minions you have very little damaging or escaping abilities.
Other than that you should try to grab the enemies green health buff at about 1:15 into the game, seeing as you have HotG on a minute cooldown. After getting both green and blue Bakasura should be roughly level 4-5 and you should prioritize the Attack Buff > Movement Speed > Blue > Health > Cooldown Reduction > Defence.
Defence however is one of the easiest to grab, as you can do this whilst moving towards mid lane for grabbing kills, as soon as you see your mid god retreating, you should be pushing for the kill, if you can land your ultimate with enough distance away from his own tower the midlane shouldn't cause too many issues.
When the laning phase is over, usually about level 12-15 in my experience focus on grabbing the Gold Fury with a tank if possible, other than that I would suggest to be jungling more often now and trying to attempt to stop pushes, however never engage for a large period of time, if you jump into a 2v1 situation you will likely die if they are on full health, so harass and fall back.
I may add more to the guide if it sees any interest but thanks for reading this and good luck
