Introduction

Hello guys, this is my bastet guide for arena. Bastet is a very mobile assassin that has the potential to destroy the squishy gods whilst being safe. Bastet is my main god and arena is the main game mode I play. This build is perfect for my playstyle and with it sports a 2.26 K/D ratio. I currently have Bastet mastery 5 because Bastet is so fun to play! Lets get started.

Items

Firstly, I start with boots and since Bastet is an ability based god, Warrior's Tabi is the better option to go rather than the Ninja Tabi. Bastet does not need the attack speed, just a lot of power.

Next, I go with Jotunn's Wrath, one of my most favourite items. It gives you a lot of stuff that really helps Bastet. It gives you 40 power, 150 mana, 11% penetration and 25% CDR. Bastet is very mana hungry, especially in the early game, so this item helps with that. I find that the 2 main causes of dropping a kill or dying with Bastet is because I either have no mana or I have to wait for the long cooldowns. Bastet has very long cooldowns, with razor whip, Bastet's hardest hitting ability at a 15 second cooldown. That's too long to wait, especially in a fight. Most fight don't last 15 seconds and if you find yourself out of position with your pounce in cooldown, you're dead. So the CDR is essential for Bastet as she needs to use her abilities to engage, escape, poke and chase.

Then, I get shifter's shield that gives a lot of power and some protections to make up for Bastet's squishiness. It gives 60 power when above 50% health and gives 20 protections when under 50% health which adds up to 35 protections the item gives you. This item lets Bastet get aggressive, pouncing in, dealing the damage and pouncing back out.

I start then going into utility by getting Winged Blade. This item, in my opinion is one of the most OP item on Bastet. Firstly it gives Bastet 300 health which increases survivability, 10% movement speed, 10% CDR for the abilities, and 10% attack speed and an amazing passive that saved my life so many times. This item makes Bastet have incredible mobility. You have the 18% movement speed from your boots, 10% from this item, 25% from pouncing for 4 seconds and this passive that makes you move 20% faster when hit by a slow. It really gives bastet a good chase potential and a very good escape potential.

I then go into Titan's bane for the penetration. I feel that Bastet has a very hard time dealing damage to tanky units which is obvious but the damage she deals is miniscule. Razor whip would generally deal around 50-60 damage per tick to an average guardian or warrior which is little because by the time you are buying a fifth-item, guardians would have around 3000+ health. Titan's Bane is a good choice for dealing more damage to guardians and is definitely worth if they are investing in 2 or more physical defence items.

If I do have enough gold to buy a sixth tier 3 item, which in most games I do, I just get Deathbringer. I know that Bastet is not an AA based god, but it gives a ton of power and if at this stage of the game the crits hit for 650-800 damage to non-tanky gods. Its good when you pull off the Bastet body-block with her ult and you can just laugh at the unfortunate god trapped by your cats whilst you basic attack him/her for 800 per crit after you used all your abilities. You could 100-0 most squishy gods in under 3 seconds with your kit and AA.

BEADS IS ONE OF THE MOST OP ITEMS IN THE GAME!
CC wrecks Bastet and beads save your life. No further explanation needed.

I did not add transcendence because I feel that you need the first 4 items as soon as possible. Also I my experience I feel like if I do buy it, it takes too long to stack because, I am generally fighting other gods most of the time and there are other team members that need to stack or can clear the wave with just 1 ability really fast.

Skills

1.Pounce- Bastet's main ability to escape, poke, chase, and engage. It is a very safe ability that allows you to jump at the enemy deal damage and jump back out before they realise or hit you with an ability. You also gain 25%movement speed after you jump, so chasing is good, so is running away. You can use it to jump over the wall and into your fountain. It is good for applying Bastet's passive to use your ult or to deal extra damage.

2.Razor whip- Bastet's main damage ability. It hits everyone in the cone with the whip going from left to right. It deals tick damage 4 times and can do around 500+ damage late game to non-tank characters.

3.Declaw- It is a single projectile that when it hits a minion or god, it will deal the same damage and apply the 30% slow to everyone close. After burning your whole kit, this ability can secure a kill on a god that has very little health left with a good shot. It is good for chasing a god as it slows or dealing poke damage.

4.Cat Call- Bastet's Ultimate ability. She summons 3 cats around her and will target and chase bleeding enemies first. If placed correctly, the cats will trap an enemy god if you use the ult close to them. Enemy gods cannot pass through the cats without killing them, so you can use your abilities and AA them to death. Even if you don't achieve the body-block with the cats, the cats will give a 20% slow giving you time to catch up and secure the kill. Be wary, though as this ult can be useless of some gods and can fall off late game. HOG affects the cats. Gods with leaps can escape the cats easily and at late game the cats are easily killed. Best used against god's that have no escape and are squishy like *cough cough* Ra!

Summary

All in all, Bastet is very fun to use, easy to get kills (most of the time) and difficult to kill due to her pounce and movement speed. She has some good skins, Covert Ops and Kawaii pop and is very annoying for the enemy team. I do not believe she falls too heavy in late game, as it is easy to kill squishy gods with her without her cats.

This is my very first post/guide and I do appreciate constructive feedback. Bastet OP!
