Description

YOU DO NOT NEED A 15 PAGE GUIDE TO UNDERSTAND
I'm not teaching you how to play Smite, I'm telling you what works well for me- shortly and simply.

I've been playing Geb since he came out. At this point in time, 01-26-2014, I am rank 3 mastery with him and am currently at over 75% win percentage (25-8). I realize this isn't a conventional "guide" but this is here to show you in a nutshell what works very well for me- even with his recent nerf.
I start with Winged Wand for the health, cd reduction and the passive is great for escape. You should buy level 1 Meditation and two health potions. On my first return, I follow this up with the always necessary boots- either or work very well. This is where things start to become situational... Usually, I have returned to base after a initiate on the other team and have less than 500 gold- thus I buy Magi's Blessing because it is cheap. If you have enough gold you'll want to decided whether you feel your Physical/Magical reductions are sufficient at this time. Normally I feel too squishy and choose , but is equally as good in my opinion. Finally, and again based on your enemies damage type, pick between for magic power/magic resist or for the great physical reduction passive and magic power/physical reduction stats.

A brief overview on his combat and initiations:
Buy starting items, initiate the Mana Jungle buff for your team by utilizing all your abilities: roll into the pack, turn around, shockwave the pack, shield yourself and move to Damage Buff followed by speed buff. Using your abilities will help your team clear quickly and save you from taking damage- use Meditation and one of your health potions and you should be back to fighting shape.

I honestly just roll around as much as possible and continually pop the other teams more squishy players as often as possible and let my team initiate around my attacks. Geb does amazing Area of Effect damage once you have your ultimate and the fact he has a slow/knockback: and two stuns: / allows you to hold an entire team in one spot for a solid few seconds- which is more than enough time for your DPS to do some major damage.

Keeping yourself very aware of your allies health and position as you fight is essential and it will take some getting used to between deciding to shield yourself or one of your allies. Geb's ability makes escape incredibly easy with this build- pop on and use Roll Out away from your attackers and say goodbye.

I have tried this kind of build before before, but i find it to be more of an 'epeen' build than a build that is truely better for your team. I will explain.
No matter how you build geb, he will almost never outdamage pretty much anyone else on your team built for damage. Geb isn't really meant to deal damage, he is meant to take damage and disrupt.

The way i play geb is to tank out and annoy the hell out of the enemy team in team fights, forcing them to pay attention to me in order to do anything which simply wastes their time while your teammates destroy their team while distracted.

Even if their team is adept enough to know not to focus the tanky geb, being in the middle of them and knocking them around will frustrate and put extreme pressure on them, and it takes a very disciplined team to stick to the plan in those circumstances.

Sacrificing some of your tankiness for magic power seems to be to be counter productive. It means you are easier to get out of the middle of a team fight, which is where geb really does his best work. It isnt about damage, its about disruption.

Pretty much the way i play geb is, stay in the middle of their team as long as you can. Magic power doesnt help me with that so i find it not as effective :)

CDR tho... love me some cdr :)

True. I'm new to this site compared to users like Subzero008, who had the same opinion of this guide, but that doesn't matter, right?

I may be unremarkable with a few a posts, but I have a well written guide: hi, click me. This well written guide got to the standard that it's at now because I looked around and talked to some people who cared about the community of this website. Being able to get to this point, I take the time and effort to look at new and upcoming guides which need help.

This guide gives me no insight on Geb. A guide is suppose to GUIDE. You've failed in that attempt, as of now. Supposedly, you're wonderful at this God. Just saying get this item because it's cheap is one of the worst things I've heard. Use your "gift" and explain to us thoroughly why you pick some items and I have no problem with arena, but give us some gameplay tips. Just giving a set of items to build isn't going to make someone a whole heck of a lot better if their gameplay sucks. You can improve this guide, but your attitude leads me to believe you'll just let this "guide" teeter off into the abyss known as the archives.

Looking at how this guide only has 2 bars now I can assume the people have spoken. It's useless and your piss-poor attitude didn't help your case. Much love!

Sincerely,
Sanguis

Says Mr. Unremarkable HAHA- Lets use that same logic and say your opinion and review of this guide have no merit or relevance because you are ranked so low on the "Smite Fire Totem-pole" and have so few posts.... GG, keep coming back :)

You keep talking about this high win ratio, but you've played the God less than 100 times. Your win ratio is invalid for now. It's fine to be arrogant, but you have nothing to back up your attitude, yet.

Wait, I haven't reviewed anything, but being a good player does not mean the same thing as choosing the right items.

I can go on a hunter and build full defensive and do well - it has nothing to do with it being a smart built.

That's all I'll say. I don't like getting involved in arguments.

As long as what you're saying is I'm a good player- you're admitting to the fact that the items I chose are good. The content may be poorly written, sloppy and quickly composed but the results speak for themselves. I harbor no resentment towards any of you- I understand this guide isn't pretty or even effective, but I felt the need to share what has worked very well for me. I do appreciate the comments and downvotes as it is raising the views on my guide! Much love!

Being good with a god doesn't mean you're good at writing a guide for the god. Thanks for playing.

The guide is ****... with a 78% win ratio lol

This is literally the worst guide I have ever read with the worst author I have ever seen. I second Sanguis in saying that Subzero's Artemis guide is better than this, because at least it has different sections and the author isn't a daft and arrogant ****. I don't need to have had played Geb or written a guide on him to tell this guide is ****. Good day m8.

Wasted? I think not. Those hours walking around aimlessly around the streets of Stormwind is what made the subscription fee bearable. However, you failed to respond to the truth at hand: You have barely played (33 games) a God that you claim to be a "God" at with your 75% win rate (this number is useless due to the amount of games you've played; this number doesn't tell me anything about casual or ranked games).

The only thing I can agree with this guide is the bit I supplied for it...

I lol'd at you wasting 110 hours in stormwind :) your life is obviously much better than mine- good guide or otherwise. Also edited the guide to include your idea for my TLDR!
