Upgrade Bluestone Pendant to Corrupted Bluestone as soon as possible.
Replace Runeforged Hammer with Atalanta's Bow at the very end.
Hey this is Exletalis and I am here to talk about a bit of an unorthodox build. I primarily play solo and mid with builds and gods that are meant to take people by surprise. The whole point is to break the meta and find counters to the common matchups. With that in mind, I have been taking a solid liking to adding some attack speed and crit into Chaac.
The primary ability leveling focus is going to be the 1 and 2 for clearing minions and harassing/applying bluestone. One major change from most Chaac guides is to pick up your Rain Dance at level 2. Your goal is to rush level 2 before your lane opponent, then immediately start bullying with axe throws and rains. Most enemy solo laners won't be able to stand up to the movement/attack speed slow as well as the heal that your rains provide at level 2. After this, normal skill leveling is the way to go with the Thunder Strike taking priority for safe harassment.
For starter items, Bluestone Pendant is the go to pick. It provides everything you want early on with damage and sustain. One key factor that makes this shine over all other relics is specifically the DoT. The out of combat anti-healing debuff comes back really quickly and having that DoT applied from range with axe throws allows you to stay in combat longer for your rains to heal you for more. It is a great sustain tool that many Chaac's overlook.
Your first major item is going to be Runeforged Hammer. This one is obvious for its value on Chaac. He has 2 very long and formidable CC's that allow the consistent use of the Runeforged passive. On top of that it provides a good chunk of power, HP, and sustain. An idea to get even more value out of this item, if you are in ranged of the enemy, cast your rains before your ult to get the hammer's passive on the ult's damage.
Next up, the tank items. Our goal in this build is to get high attack speed and solid crit. So we will be getting tank items that support that focus. Your 2 main items are going to be Berserker's Shield and Shogun's Kusari. These will give you a good coverage as a brawler for both physical and magical damage. The order you get this in will depend on what is most threatening at the time. Usually, this will be Berserker's because most solo lane enemies will be physical as well as the jungler. But, if you are absolutely bullying your lane and jungle doesn't seem to be a threat, Shogun's may be the answer.
Now that your tankiness is in order, it's time to move into the primary focus of the build, crit! Almost every game is going to have a healer or someone with some sort of lifesteal. So, to counter that, we need anti-heal. This will come from Shadowsteel Shuriken. This item is perfect since it also will boost your attack speed as well as get some initial crit online. Following that, you will want to beef those crits up with Malicious Deathbringer. This provides a 2 part boost in that it gives you the cooldown reduction on crit to allow you to spam AoE abilities for team fights, keep your rains up for sustain and slows to stick to your target, and be able to teleport in/out for reliably. Something even bigger for this, once you upgrade your starter Bluestone to Corrupted Bluestone, it allows you to stack up the passive and maintain those stacks easily.
Speaking of Bluestone, getting your Corrupted Bluestone is a huge priority and should be done as soon as possible. Corrupted Bluestone brings in a big piece of Chaac's endgame dueling potential with the enemy attack speed debuff while both buffing your own attack speed and protections. And, like stated before, with your crits quickly refreshing your skills cooldowns, you can easily stack this up and maintain them.
Last on the list, replacing Runeforged Hammer for Atalanta's Bow. The reason I decided on this is because of the value that the bow provides. After extensive testing, you get much more consistent damage and crits, some lifesteal for sustain, and sticking potential from the passive to ensure your presence in fights. The only downside is a bit less HP, but I feel that it is a valuable trade-off.
To wrap things up, the problem I have noticed with Chaac in the endgame is that he turns into more of a constant nuisance and a 3 second silence ult. You spend most of your time just standing near people with rains going followed by kiting the entire enemy team when you get low. This relies very heavily on your team providing the pressure and damage to win a team fight. With this build, I still end up with high mitigation, but also the threatening warrior damage and presence instead of just being a second support.
I hope you like it and all feedback is welcome. It would be great to see this build evolve even further.
