Summary

My build for Cupid in Duel. The interesting thing with Cupid in the current meta is that he's very suitable as a ability base and auto attack base hybrid. I wouldn't recommend building Transcendance anymore on him ; I recommend Devourer's Gauntlet instead. I really like Fatalis on Cupid but against assassins and some other hunters you should susbstitute it for Witchblade.

The alternate start is for against magical Gods if you don't want to build Ichaival. You get less attack speed and physical power for early game but more sustain. But you can build Ichaival against magical Gods anyway, depend on the situation.

Hey awesome tips there ! thank you very much. I actually like a lot your idea to add Jotunn's Wrath and Hydra's Lament. Gotta try that and let you know. I'll edit the builds often, even tho' these days I don't play Cupid much. Anyway those builds I created were more Joust 3v3 oriented.

Hey PeterRow,

Only going to comment on the Arena build, since I don't play Conquest.

Cupid is an ability-based hunter with strong power/damage scaling, especially in Arena. Why? Your only attack speed steroid is attached to your only true escape ( Flutter), which at level 5 only has a 30% attack speed increase, so that limits how effective your basic attack will be. His Heart Bomb has crazy damage scaling, so you'll be relying a lot on that for your damage output. And his Fields Of Love has huge potential for zoning, so you want it up as often as possible.

All of that considered, you want to build some CDR, and focus on power more than attack speed. That means, probably no Ichaival. So, Warrior Tabi is a good first item. Second, though, I'd suggest Jotunn's Wrath. High power, some penetration, and an essential 25% CDR. Third, sure, go for The Executioner for the attack speed and protection reduction if you want. Fourth, maybe consider Hydra's Lament ( Heart Bomb followed by a basic attack) or Bloodforge (general sustain + high damage) for different reasons. Finish with Rage + Deathbringer for the damage output. By the way, what's the reason for Death + Malice over the standard Rage/Death?
