So most build focus on all offense or add in a little defense, well in this case, movement for Freya, and many squishy gods alike makes up for lower offensive stats and lower defensive stats. The idea here is that, if melee cannot get to you, and ranged users cannot sustain damage on you, you essentially cannot be killed. You also cannot be our ran, which we all know is the most annoying thing in the world, having to chase someone down who is at 5% health, only to be ganked by several of their teammates because you ran 1/2 way across the map only to fail at the very last second. With speed, this rarely happens.\
Boots of Celerity I buy these off the bat mainly for the speed, but the cooldown makes a huge difference as well for keeping pulse up to clear creeps safely at range. These combined with Purification Beads and Sprint will allow you to escape just about any bad situation early game. But more importantly is being aware of your surroundings and playing cautious. You're still very fragile early game so be aware of MIA calls.
Fatalis is 4th in my build order mainly because Pythagorem's Piece Added sustainability that I normally opt for instead. The Life Steal is so vital for recouping after fights. The less time wasted porting back, the better. It's also vital in negating damage when fighting gods.
Once you have these, you're essentially running around with 50% Run Speed. Not many other people build to move this fast, so chances are you'll be able to out run, catch, or ambush anyone before they know what hit them.
Getting and keeping the upper hand is what makes speed so valuable from an offensive perspective. In order to gain the best upper hand possible, we need to get the first kills (and ensure we do not become a first kill). Not only does it help with ganks, but being able to circle the map and kill creeps + Jungle Buffs early makes a world of difference in your income.
As soon as you hit level 5 look for the easy gank, your 40% run speed from Boots of Celerity will allow you to get to your target as fast as possible and get that kill, watch lanes for ANYONE at or around 50%, even Ymir doesn't stand a chance unless he went with a Stone of Gaia build first. Try to position yourself behind them and get a few shots of Pulse in to weaken them farther, do NOT waste Valkyrie's Discretion. If they get too far ahead of you, use Banish. Save Valkyrie's Discretion for when they get to their tower line, you can still finish them off from a good distance. SO don't be so trigger happy with it. Chances are, someone on their team is headed your way to help them out and you may need it to escape or finish them off as well.
The key to Freya, as is with most gods is survival. Always keep in mind that most decent players know how fragile Freya is and will be looking to burn their Ultra on you as soon as they hit 5.
So my second build item is Void Stone Early game this is huge to up your damage and counter anyone who picked up Reinforced Boots But most importantly is the Magic Protection. Remember, the key to this build is to NOT be hit, by upping your movement. We're not worried too much about Physical Resists, yes there are a few ranged gods with physical but most ranged that will hit you is going to be magical.
Speed also opens many doors that the average 25% doesn't allow for. A good example is counter attacking in the jungle, when you're being chased, and outrunning an enemy, it is very important to keep watch on the distance between you. The second you see them turn around and give up, strike! This is very effective for several reasons. Their team probably saw you being chased, started to follow suite and are most likely unable to see you on the radar once your original pursuer turned tail. Thus they return to whatever they were doing. So now, you're off the radar, you have some unsuspecting target moving away who you can easily catch up to and they're most likely on your teams radar... Easy Gank, made even easier once you posses Gem of Isolation
This always makes people rage a little. Here they thought they had a nice squishy target, but they just couldn't get to it, then the tables turned and there they are looking at a respawn timer.
The most powerful combo I've found in this game thus far is Gem of Isolation + Pulse Together they will 50% snare a target for 2 seconds. With a little attack speed + Banish Freya can essentially 50% snare someone indefinitely.
Once you have Fatalis + Gem of Isolation You can literally run circles around any target, regardless of their speed buffs.
Granted I've only recently purchased Freya a few days ago, but in that time while applying this combination and this guide in general, many players in my lane either quit the game or move to another lane more often than not.

This build is awesome, great job. Ive been playing with it for about a week now and I absolutelly love it! :)
if you love it so much why dont you MARRY IT. loljk.
Thank you so much!! I'm having a long win streak using her after reading your build today!
Frejya is my 2nd god which i bought (Started smite just this week) and I regretted buying after using her and experiencing defeat and seeing how useless she was until I saw your build.
It works as a charm! You dont know how much I want to express my exaggeration thanking you!
I've found that if you're holding mid vs any magic dealer, the Void Stone makes a huge difference in sustainability especially vs He Bo, Agni, Anubis (most common middle defenders)
Not only does it negate a lot of their damage, but the damage bonus it gives off is huge, most people do not expect their nukes to do so little damage to Freya early game, by the time they realize that their ultimate wont even do 50% life(as it would normally kill Freya) it's usually too late for them to get away.
