This is my standard build order. If you are snowballing you can opt to level Shock Wave over Stone Shield as long as your carry isn't taking too much damage from the enemy team. If you're new to Geb remember not to just spam your stone Shield on cooldown especially if your opponent has CC in their kit, try to wait until they use the CC so that you can cleanse it with your shield or if you know a burst is coming, shield it. As a support your CC's are of upmost importance so do not waste them, save them for the right moments....to chase, to peel, etc.
Archdruids if you want a bit of burst in your build. Relic dagger if you want reduced relics. Chronos if you want some damage and cooldown optional replacement for pridwen or spirit robe. Ethereal Staff if you want damage, CCR and enemy comp has 3+ high health. Pestilence, Contagion and Divine Ruin for anti-heals; pestilence into high magical comp, contagion into high attack comp and divine if you just want some extra damage. Winged Blade is a good option into enemy comps with multiple slows. Spectral Armor is massive on Geb if the enemy has 2+ crit gods...both spectral and his passive are additive making him near immune to criticals (at least this was the case a few years ago). Go Sov to give your team some extra physical defense. Emperor armor if you're going to be diving a lot or are getting dove a lot. Midgardian can be a good option into comps with heavy basic attack focus.
Hello! My name is Valafeindorl and I am, in all seriousness, a noob. I got my account to about level 32 through mostly (about 95%) bot games so I do not have much experience in PvP. I have begun to try my hand at pvp though. I am a support main. This is my first attempt at a guide and hopefully it helps someone.
This, in my opinion, is a very solid build....giving around 300 physical protections, 325 magic protections, 40% CDR, 40% CCR and if you grab Sentinels Embrace instead of Sentinels Boon you are giving your team 42 magical and physical protections in a team fight EACH. that's a total of 336 protections you are providing in a team fight. If you don't need much CCR you can swap your oni and spirit robe for Sov and Heartward giving your team an extra 15 of each protections putting your total at 57 each. Don't forget spectral armor on geb along with his passive since they are additive effects makes Geb near immune to criticals meaning they basically do the same amount as a regular basic attack
In a teamfight you want to ult to engage and try to get the entire enemy team if you can. The reason you want to engage with ult is because of it's 15% of current health damage, taking around 20% of each enemies health as an engage is HUGE for a support. Used in this situation Geb has the highest dealing ult of all supports, it's not even close. With a 5 man ult and a competent team you will win every team fight. Situation dependant make sure you are diving the backline (adc) especially since you are more or less crit immune you want to be body blocking all of their autos. If you can't get to the backline/positioning is not available then protect and peel for your carries. Your job as a support is to hold your team together, you are the glue. Work on your map and situational awareness. Always know where all enemies are to the best of your ability. Use them wards, they're not in the shop for show, buy them. Use them. Use them correctly don't just place them willy nilly. Roam, don't just sit in lane with your adc. As soon as they are capable of wave clearing quickly by themselves and farming it is time to roam. Stick around mid so that when/if opportunities present themselves you can get to either lane as fast as possible. Roll Out gives Geb extreme roaming potential. Make sure you're buying the correct relics for your team. Does the enemy team have a bunch of healing? Get an Ankh. Do they have maui, yemoja, ymir etc? Grab a phantom shell. Enemy team isn't buying anti heal and your team has poor sustain? Buy a meditation. No one has a CC cleanse and didn't buy that wing blade? Grab that horrific. Enemy team keeps escaping with 1 HP and it's tilting you? Heavenly wings. 3+ high health enemy gods? Sundering Spear baby. Multiple auto attacks deciding to focus you instead? Shield of Thorns. Want to hard engage and make the enemy team poo their pants? Blink Rune into Ult followed by a horrific into a Shock Wave and you're looking at one of the best engages possible by a support. REMEMBER REMEMBER REMEMBER. I've said it more than once through this guide. If the enemy team has even 1 god building crit it will be worth it to buy spectral armor. Gebs passive and spectral armor are additive meaning he receives a 105% critical damage reduction meaning critical do no extra damage to geb
I know I'm still new and really don't have much experience at all but I do hope this helps someone...even if it's just one person then I'm happy. Thanks for stopping by!
