Hades is my main and I have grown to realize how easy it is to die as him when not built correctly. I find this build to be the most effective in all my testing. It works in any game mode and he can be a considerable nuisance in the Mid or Solo lane in Conquest.
Hades is a frontline mage. His abilities force him to be in the middle of a fight and as such he needs to be prepared. So we prepare him by making him tanky. This may be common knowledge for most but everyone goes about it in their own way and this is my way.
FIRST AND SECOND ITEM
Warlock's Sash is essential to Hades survivability. As the game goes on it helps you become harder and harder to kill.
I choose to go into Warlock's Sash first just to get into stacking as soon as possible. Getting those early stacks can make a big difference. But you can switch the order with boots at your own discretion, depending on mode and enemy team comps.
Then I go into pen boots over cooldown boots for the damage. I think one issue with Hades is his damage can fall flat without taking power wherever you can and this is one of those small pick ups that can really help. If you feel better with cooldown boots that's a perfectly fine substitute.
3RD AND 4TH ITEM
Breatplate and Voidstone work so well together on Hades. Both simultaneously increase survivability and damage potential.
Generally it's best to go into Breastplate first. The cooldown helps a lot and the protections can help you survive ganks in Conquest. If the enemy Mid laner is pushing hard or the opposing team is made up of mostly magical gods it would be a good idea to go into Voidstone first.
5TH ITEM
Here's where things get a little tricky. I like Ethereal Staff here as the default item. It works well in combination with Warlock's helping you remain tanky, giving you Health, Mana and a decent boost to power.
But if you are slightly ahead, or feel confident enough in the current game, you can go into a more offensive item like Spear of the Magus or Obsidian shard. Both of these items provide a great boost to damage and should help you run through the enemy with relative ease. Be sure to sell this for Spear of Desolation in the late game for some serious damage output.
6TH ITEM
Rod of Tahuti - need I say more? This item is an automatic buy on all mages and Hades is no exception. This is where you'll get your main boost of damage. If you are a little behind you can go into Magus or Shard and sell for Rod later.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
