Your first starter item will be Sentinal's Gift which you will want to evolve into Sentinel's Embrace [Around level 18-20]. Your second starter item will be tier 1 boot that you will eventually become Warrior Tabi. You will also want to buy 2 Healing Potion and 2 Mana Potion. your first relic will either be Aegis Amulet or Purification Beads.
You want to use these depending on how the game is going. If there is a Mid building life steal, [Anubis] then you would want to build Pestilence or Contagion. If the Carry or Jungle, [Danza/Camazotz] is building a Critical Strike build you would want to build Spectral Armor. Depending on how the rest of your team is doing will decide if you would use The Sledge or Spirit Robe. if your team is lacking a damage a little then you will want to go The Sledge to give you a little extra power [will also give you +250 health which is not to bad either]. If your team is fine on damage then you will want to go Spirt Robe to give u a little more Protections/CCR/CDR [Its passive is very good also].

Hercules is one of the most slept on support Gods in the game. he is usally a Solo God but can most definitely play Support if not better than Solo. The main thing that makes him so good if that he can assist not only you Carry in early game but your entire team late game, but also at the same time do damage and hold your own ground to where the enemy Gods will be running for their lives. The main thing that will make you a "Good Hercules Support" is being able to consistently hit your 2, [EarthBreaker]. Once you are able to hit that 2 just about every time you and knock them up then proceed to push them back with your 1, [Driving Strike] which will also stun them. That stun will let your carry get another stun on them and be able to kill them. when you reach level 5 you will be able to use your 4, [Excavate] so if you get that combo down you will be able to 1,2,4 then they will most likely be dead or close to it. I highly recommend going into a jungle practice with a friend or even by your self and practicing that 2, [EarthBreaker] until you master it because it sure will help.
Buying the right items for Herc is one of the most crucial parts to him. You basically want a Cooldown/Power build or a Cooldown/Protections build depending how the game is going for you and your team [SEE NOTES IN "Situational/Final item after boots"] One item I will explain is Shield of Regrowth because not many people use it. It give you +300 health and 10% CDR but it's passive is why you want it. The passive is thst every time you use a healing ability [Hercules's 3 or Mitigate Wounds] it gives you a 30% Movement Speed buff that last for 4s and has a 10s Cooldown Reduction. This is so good for Herc because when a low health enemy is trying to run away u can pop your 3 and be able to catch up with him and be able to land your 2 on him. also the new season 8 map is a MASSIVE map so it also helps with being able to rotate to different lane a lot quicker. You are already healing your yourself so much with Herc that it just makes just makes sense to buy Shield of Regrowth.
The Cooldown Reduction items I will make a separate lis for you. They give a lot of protections some good passives and of course CDR.
Like I said before this is one of the best supports you can play this season in my opinion once you get used to his abilities and his combos you will be destroying the other team and you will see how fun he is. GOOD LUCK YOU POGS!!!

First off everything besides Sentinel's Embrace, Shield of regrowth, and Mantle of Discord is not meant for support.
Buying items like Breastplate of Valor, and Genji's Guard is trolling in support. These are very selfish items that are meant to be bought on Solo Laners. This build is actually just a Solo Herc build, but you changed the starter to Sentinel's Embrace, from Bluestone Pendant.
A good build for support would be:
Sentinel's Embrace - Reinforced Greaves - Sovereignty - Talisman of Energy - Shield of Regrowth - Mantle of Discord
Your job is not to kill the enemy. Your job is to peel for your team, setup kills, and tank objectives. You are not doing that with your build. Reinforced Greaves are bloated, and v good for tanks, and you still do a lot of damage, while having good protections early. Sovereignty is an op item, no more needs to be said, if you are not building this you are trolling. Both Talisman of Energy - Shield of Regrowth are fantastic items for MS on Herc. Finally Mantle of Discord is just an op item, prots, and an op passive.
You also tell them to start with 2 health, and 2 mana pots. Which is not good at all, of all the combos you can start. There are 3 good starts for support. All 3 start the same items, just diff pot set ups, ill list those below. These will also be post Sentinel's Gift cost increase.
Sentinel's Gift - Boots
Then Either:
1 Chalice of Healing 2 Multi Potion
4 Healing Potion 4 Multi Potion
1 Chalice of Healing 1 Hand of the Gods
These are going to be the only go to potion set ups once Sentinel's Gift gets the cost increase.
Lastly your actives choices are not great. Blink Rune is Hercs best friend. Start this every game. After that you can get something like Sundering Spear or Magic Shell. You CAN get Purification Beads if you really need it cause the enemy has a lot of cc. However buying Aegis Amulet is always trolling 100% of the time in support. There is 0 value in going this. If you are getting yourself in a position where you need this active, you need to learn to position better.
All in all this guide needs an overhaul, or just change up the title, and starter and make it a solo guide.
Firstly, appreciate your extensive feedback on this, and obviously all of the things you're suggesting are all very solid.
One word I think we should be more careful in using is trolling. I think we generally agree that when someone is officially trolling, they're specifically doing something outside the meta and with intention to either "just have fun" or to mess with their team.
I think in many cases, having people that choose Breastplate of Valor or Genji's Guard on a support (or any other number of "interesting" item choices on gods in various roles) isn't so much trolling as it is just not choosing optimally, and this may be due to level of knowledge etc. While BoV is a selfish item and I 100% agree with you that it shouldn't be chosen generally in Supp (outside of maybe Guan Yu), it's not like the physical protection or the high CDR isn't helpful, and I can easily see newer players seeing those stats and feeling that the item is good.
Basically, would rather we just say it's not a good choice in that role, rather than someone's actually (and clearly) trolling, unless it's obvious. It feels like we're getting to a point where we just use the word so much, it's like people saying "literally."
