The Common Core, a good set for guardians.

The common core is a great core build for a selfless support, this is making others get the kills so you can get assist gold for keeping up with the carries.
Soveriegnty makes your team more tanky and allows you to have more sustain in teamfights.

Why is Geb "the quintiseential support"?

Geb is the support that works on every team, and it is the only role he can viably play.
His shields and his passive makes him a Great Wall and a good back-line support.
He is a diverse god that can be built in many ways, he can be built in the essential support meta as well as other, more situational builds.

Geb's abilities

1. Auto bots, ROLLOUT
This ability makes geb slowly ramp up in speed over tine, eventually he becomes CC immune and gains a knockup effect on contact with an enemy god. Geb passes through minions during this stage.

Use this to position yourself for a teamfight, if you have blink, this can be used while it is on cooldown. Use it to initiate on teamfights.

2. Knockup
This ability causes a rolling knockup in a moderate sized radius in front of Geb, The knockup cannot be purified or interrupted, but targets are only knocked up for 1/2 a second.

This is the geb bread and butter, if you can hit this to knock up an enemy to provide an opportunity to go in, then you have done your job. You can use it for memebuilding because the knockup does do damage, but if you are being a serious Samuel, go for some CDR instead so you can have it up more often.

3. Shield
This ability creates a shield on a single target that adds a percentage of their current health as a temporary shield.

Use this often, and use it well. This makes Geb one of the best supports in the game, because he essentially gives twice a bloodforged shield for free late game. This makes his late game pickup massive, and using this in the laning phase to prevent damage is also welcome because it has your ADC use less health potions. I would reccomend upgrading this first, then your 2, then your 1.

4. Earthshatter.
This ability creates a slightly delayed area stun in a moderate sized area around Geb.

Use this to initiate on teamfights, do NOT use this as peel unless the entire team is there.

Playing geb, the long game

If you play geb, then you need to play for late game. When he picks up items he becomes nearly unstoppable along with his shield which gets stronger as the game goes along, nearly giving the target a momentary 40% health boost when maxed. Playing him for the long game means chilling under tower for a long time until you feel you can initiate mid-game. Doing this makes you stronger with more lane farm, which lets you roam more in order to secure assist gold.
