this is my first guild. iv been playing smite for a while and one of my favorite things to do is mid lane as kali. iv played many games as mid kali and im very confident this build will work for others. any questions or comments please leave them, ill try to answer the best i can.
so i start with Meditation, Heartseeker 1, and 2 hp pots and 2 wards. i dont get boots until i see who im against in mid. if im against say, anubis or artemis ill go with celerity boots. the extra in combat speed is very very nice to dodge anubis' mummify, also makes getting out of the range of artemis' boar pretty ez. u can get them for Ra too, but i usually go with warrior tabi for any other mid opponent. after your first back, try to make sure u have enough gold to finish heartseeker and at least rank 2 of whichever boot you choose.
next we buy a souleater, this item is just so good for kali especially in mid, it provides great attack speed, hp, and life steel, the passive effects you as well. theres just no reason not to get this.
after souleater, you need some damage, this is when we get Deathbringer. followed by executioner for the attack speed and the passive. and finsish up with qins blades
if you are against anhur, i recommend getting witchstone and voidblade, the physical protection helps alot against his passive.
iv found the key to mid laning on kali is to be aggressive, dont be dumb, dont tower dive super early or anything, but try to keep the enemy god pushed up in his tower so the tower kills minions and steals their xp and gold.
at lvl 3 you can really push them using your 1 then 2, makes your 2 hit really hard, which will make them think twice about pressing you, and it demolished creeps. if u go to the side your 2 will hit both the archer and melee creeps, so do this if possible.
remember siphon is your best friend here in mid.
if u can score a kill or 2 before lvl 5 thats great, but dont over extend yourself and die to a tower or creeps. remember you want to play aggressive and push, but dont get to greedy. if they are goin back in their tower circle, let them, the more time u are out there and they arent, the better for you, you will have more gold, and be higher lvl. once u have gotten 1 tower down, go ganking for a bit, which ever side seems like they need help more, go help em out. after all you should have the most gold and be the highest lvl by a good bit by this point. ideally you would leave to gank right after you get a kill on their mid, most of the time ppl dont call MIA's if they are dead.
which reminds me, calling MIA, this isnt rocket science, and ppl seem to think it is... if they go back call em mia, if you go back, call mia, if they die call mia, if you die call mia, basically anytime you dont have visual confirmation of their position either via mini map or just on screen, call mia. better to call it have them show right back up then not call it and get someone ganked. i know myself and im sure many others dont always just stare at the mini map, so the argument "look at the map" is just ********. also use the V menu for the love of sex. again if u just type 'ss' or 'mia' that doesnt really mean ****, cuz if its mia left and you are right, prolly shouldnt worry to much, but mid should. its good to know where the missing god is from. and u can hear it rather than the chat box which disappears after a few seconds.
mid to late game, continue to roam and help your team push their towers if they need help, otherwise try to get FG whenever its up, same with GF, GF not as big a deal, especially if you have like baka or arachne, they should bet getting GF.

also if your arte opponent is good and gets in close, just pop your ult right as u hear his ult goin off, its a pig screeching, and it takes about 1s to go off which should be time enough for you to pop your ult and not even worry about it at all. but either way works, this is just what i like and have found to work better for me. its definitely viable to go with tabi and beads though
