Good day everyone, I'm a 6 star Khepri main. I've been playing the sun beetle for over 6 years and I want to share my build and strategies with you.
I believe Khepri is a very strong pick and can change the tides of a match with his unique ultimate, good CC chains and his near infinite versatility.
STARTERS:
All of these starters serve their own purposes.
take Compassion if you wanna be the textbook defenition of a support
take sentinel's embrace if you wanna have constant healing and mana regen during laning phase
If your team has great wave clear tools, make use of warflag to have a constant pressure on the enemy
CORE BUILD:
ALways rush Thebes it is by far the best tank item in the game
Pridwen makes your ult more threatening since not only do you save an ally, the next person you grab will also receive severe damage from pridwen's passive
3RD ITEM:
I prefer going for magus since the 7.5% damage increase you give to your teamate is very rewarding, especially with Khepri's CC combo
Genji's is for mana sustain and CDR
If you have Warflag as your starter, then combine it with TAlisman of energy to make your team able to pressure easier with Speed, Attack speed, increase MP5 etc.
Mystical mail provides some nice damage during close quarter fights
Stone of binding is insane early game and with Magus, you can really oppress enemy supports/solos
REST OF THE BUILD (situational):
The last 2 items of your build are the more situational ones.
take either contagion or pestilence if their team has a lot of healing
Valor or Genjis if you need mana and CDR
Mystical mail if you need an extra damage source
If you really don't know what to do, I recommend going for both sovereignty and Heartward amulet for the insane support it gives to your team
Stone of Gaia helps you fight longer and recover easier
and last but not least, Relic dagger makes you a threat if you have good relics. It usually is my 5th or 6th item.
RELICS:
If the enemy has a damage focus team, get shell as your first relic. it will give you and your teamates a safety net if anything goes bad
Otherwise, take sundering spear and make sure to use it on your target before grabbing.
Your 2nd Relic should always be Belt of Frenzy it gives your team a pretty significant boost during teamfights and is an amazing tool to rush objectives such as towers or important jungle camps.
For skills I personnaly rush his 2 then his 1.
His 2 gives him the ability to pressure opponents by peeling them and making them easier targets, combine this with his grab and you get a pretty scary combo. Anything that isn't a tank will die if your teamates know what they are doing.
his 3 can be used as a combo starter or as an escape cover.
obviously, you should lvl up his ult any time you can. it is an insane skill and can be game changing. It denies gold, exp and destroys moral if you can pull it off efficiently.
As KHepri, you are a "Back line support" that means that instead of being in front of the fight, you should be in the back and wait for an opportunity to isolate and nullify the enemmy's biggest threat. Your entire kit is based on isolating an opponent and you should make use of that.
Don't be scared to not save someone with your ult, if the person isn't a valuable asset to your team than letting them die and saving it to protect your DPS is fine.
Make it obvious for your team when you're about to attack and give them a target.
PROS:
+Giant sun beetle
+really good CC and isolation tools
+his 2 can pressure minion clear and shred protection
+his ult is a revive that denies gold, exp and Moral
+very versatile, can be played both aggresive and defensive
+not played often, people lack experience fighting you
CONS:
-very mana hungry
-skill based
-is a "back line" support
-long cooldowns
-small range
-is vulnerable when grabbing
-low damage
