Pros
High Single Target Burst Damage
Great wave clear when Decoy is leveled
Great escape potential
Excellent ganker
Great for Split-pushing
Cons
Squishy
CC gets really annoying
Not a great team fighter
Slow early game
Decoy is his bread and butter for wave clear and jungle camp clearing. Not only does it do damage upon exploding, but it enables him to hit the targets in the back, activating his passive.
Note: When wave clearing, place it on the archers in the back. The front line minions will walk back into it and you can clear an entire wave with just your 2.
Vanish is important to get online at level 2, but it can wait to be leveled after that. Vanish makes you go invisible, increases movement speed, makes you immune to slows, and will put a bleed on a target you hit with your basic attack. This move is essential for escaping and for ganking. Being able to move around without people knowing where you are is awesome and it creates panic in the opposing team.
Note: When you go invisible to escape, don't keep running in the same direction you were running before you went invisible. They will keep chasing where they think you're going to be, but maybe as soon as you went invisible, you turned around and ran back behind them and recalled in the jungle. That would be a nifty trick. ;)
Aimed strike should be your second move you work on leveling up. This enables Loki's next basic to do more damage and apply a slow. Any time you are engaging on an enemy be sure to hit this before you start attacking. It allows you to stick to the enemy for a little while as well as deal more damage. However, at full build, you won't need to stick to an enemy, you'll one shot them if you combo correctly.
Assassinate is an excellent ultimate for Loki. It allows you to teleport to the location, stunning the enemy god, and putting you at their back, allowing your passive to activate, and does a decent amount of damage. When you use this in combination with vanish and aimed strike, you have extreme damage output. You will one-hit any squish in the game at full build. If necessary, don't be afraid to use your ultimate as an escape. You get it back fairly often when you build your cooldowns. You are more useful to your team if you are alive.
When building Loki, your focus is damage, penetration, and cooldowns. That is why Jotunn's Wrath and Hydra's Lament are essential on him. They bring him to a 35% CD reduction, gives great penetration, good power, and Hydra's passive works well in combination with Aimed strike. Warrior boots are essential as well, as you need to the movement speed and power. I've seen Lokies build ninja tabi and attack speed/crit items. Please don't. That is not the best use of Loki's kit. He is an ability based god that gets his basic's enhanced by his abilities. He doesn't need attack speed if you build him right.
As far as playstyle and move combinations, I usually engage the wave with the 2, use vanish, aimed strike, and then ulti the enemy and hit them in the back, activating the bleed from vanish and the damage from aimed strike. With the cooldowns from your items, you get vanish back every 9 seconds, so don't worry about not having it after you engage. You'll get it back really quick.
Loki is made for split-push, ganking, and destroying squishes. It team fights, take out the enemy mage or hunter to help your team. If your team is doing ok and doesn't need you in the team fight, you better be pushing tower's or phoenix's. If this is your role in the game, be sure to put on The Crusher as an item as it helps you take down objectives even faster.
Loki creates fear and confusion in any squish in the game, so use it to your advantage. If your teamate is getting pushed and needs some relief make your presence known by letting the enemy see you go invisible or hear it. Just the sound will make enemies back off. He has great potential to intimidate because of his burst potential.
Loki has great late-game potential to rip through squishes and objectives. If you are engaging in team-fights, take out the squishes and don't waste your 4 on a tank or warrior unless they are very low health. One of Loki's greatest assets is his presence, or lack thereof. He intimidates and pushes squishes back without even having to engage them.
Make sure you don't fall behind or die early. The downfall to Loki is to get under leveled. If you're jungling, actually jungle and get people their buffs, don't just gank and steal kills from people. That can be frustrating. Be a team player and help push objectives.
I hope you guys enjoy this build and get a chance to try it out.
P.S. the only time I build bloodforge is if I'm way ahead and just want the power.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
