This is your standard damage build. You start with Bluestone and tier 1 Jotunn’s and once you get your Jotunn’s online, you have everything you need really early. You’ll also start with 2 Health Potions and 1 Mana Potion. Once you have enough, recall and get your health chalice.
Brawler’s is your next item, even if you’re not playing a dedicated “healer” (i.e. Aphrodite, Hel, etc.). People who you dive are still going to use their Health Potions, Health Chalices, etc. Always going Brawlers second ensure you always have anti-heal, and you have a lot of flat penetration early. This helps you kill squishy targets a lot easier, and it does help with tanks early game.
Next item is Serrated Edge. You are mainly getting this item for the percent penetration it gives you, but this is also your main lifesteal item. The percent penetration helps shred through tanks. The movement speed it gives you also feels really nice on Loki, especially in your stealth form.
Next is Hydras Lament, which pairs really well with Loki’s 1st ability (his Stealth). When Loki comes out of stealth, his first basic attack applies a bleed (or Damage Over Time/DOT) effect. Hydras passive + Loki 1st Ability into a Basic Attack = Lots of Damage — Especially to squishy targets. You also get a little more cooldown for your abilities, which feels nice.
To finalize the build, is Heartseeker. This item gives you a good amount of ability damage with its passive, gives you great power stats and gives you extra percent penetration to help with tankier targets late game.
You’ll also want to upgrade your starter item, Bluestone Pendent to Corrupted Bluestone when you reach level 20 and have enough gold + have all your other items built. This will only make your abilities hit harder — to all types of targets. You can also get your Jotunn's Glyph (Jotunn's Vigor), mid to late game. Whenever you feel like you want that lifesteal and movement speed boost that the Glypth gives you.
This build is very similar to the standard damage build except 2 things change; your going to start Warriors Axe and then final build it into Axe of Animosity, and build Mantle of Discord either 5th or 6th slot.
This is just simply the best start for a hybrid build -- Warriors Axe gives you both protections and some power early and then late game at Level 20, you go Axe of Animosity. This gives you a big boost in health, and protections that's going to make you more tanky.
For the 5th and 6th slot, you want Mantle of Discord. Typically I would probably put this in my 5th slot. This item again, makes you more tanky and its passive is great for diving with Loki. If something goes wrong, and your below 30% and the Mantle of Discord passive kicks in, chances are you live through your failed dive.
Jotunn's, Brawler's, Serrated, and Heartseeker are all in the build for the same reasons they are in the damage build.
Hey everyone, my name is TwisT (TwisT_NY in game), I mainly play Joust and I enjoy playing Loki a lot. I am certainly not the best Loki, however I am currently a Top 10, Grandmaster Loki in Joust and I did reach #1 on the Joust Ranked Leaderboards for Loki (I know the leaderboards dont mean EVERYTHING.).
I have over 500 games played as Loki in Joust between casuals and ranked. I have played as Loki against multiple team compositions and skill levels, played WITH multiple compositions and skill levels, and have played AGAINST a Loki many times to know exactly how he works, and what items are the best to build for him in Joust. This guide goes for both Casual and Ranked Joust!
**Keep in mind, Assassins are definitely not meta in Joust right now, and especially not Loki. He is definitely an off-meta pick, so be careful when choosing Loki and try to pick him in compositions that he will work well in.**
