Sorry but this build is trash. You're getting penetration way too late in the build when you should be getting spear of the magus/pen by at latest of third item (not including blessing).

Downovting, especially with double chalice.

Also hilarious how you list Typhon's Fang on it's own without Bancrofts.

If I wanted to conquest would play league, also Poly Gives Lifesteal.

All you would have to do for non Conquest modes is Drop The Blessing. A lot of times what makes a conquest build weaker in fast modes like Arena is the use of high-cost stacking items like book of Thoth. If you take a look at the build, it doesn't have stacking. It's perfectly set up for arena.

Also yes polynomicon gives lifesteal. That said it is the lowest percent lifesteal. In addition, here's a question. Do you know how lifesteal applies to area of effect abilities?

The build I linked works well in arena too

Works great for arena.

I do want to say, this phrase comes with so many variables that it's tough to justify as-is.

God matchups play a huge role. Skill levels and internal matchmaking play a huge role. Inefficient or poor builds can work great in the right hands or against new players that don't know much.

That said, I'm not trying to put you down...just that the "works great" thing can be extremely subjective.

Polynomicon? Merlin is an AA cancel mage?

His passive is a mini poly but that does not mean in any way that you should build poly on Merlin.

Agreed. It works well on 1v1 but in arena it doesn't do well for clear. I removed it and removed Typhon because you no longer get the lifesteal from Poly
