Hey, I found myself playing a game of Conquest and I decided to meme with my friends and do damage Ganesha. It was a lot of fun but the original build was pretty bad, so I took some time to make an optimized build.
Starter:
So, the way I built this was by first prioritizing cooldown. I could've started off with Sands of Time, but I decided that Archmage late game did almost 300 more damage on the first ult hit, so I decided instead to go for a big cooldown item first in Chronos Pendant.
Shoes:
This could've been either Focus or Magus, but I decided that Focus would make more sense, especially for the early 10% CDR. By the time you upgrade these in end game, you should already have 50% CDR, so selling them wont make a difference.
Early Game:
So, for the first item, as mentioned earlier, I decided to go with Chronos Pendant. This and Spear of Desolation can be swapped around but I think Chronos for the 20% CDR and -1s on CD every 10s is a huge help. If you would rather the flat pen early, you can go for Desolation, but that's dependent on your playstyle. Just make sure that depending on which one you get first, go for the other one after that. This will also max your CDR which is important because your Ult and 1 combo is going to be doing 80% of all damage you do.
Midgame:
Okay, so this one might be controversial, but I think the next best item to get is Staff of Myrddin. This is mainly for the passive. The combo of Ult > 1 > 1 is extremely powerful and getting that combo online is essential. This can also be helpful if you need to get away quickly with an Ult > 3 > 3 and they basically cant catch up.
End Game:
Getting Spear of Magus is really helpful, this synergizes really well with Myrddin and the Ult > 1 > 1 combo and you can output lots of damage.
Next: Sell boots, buy speed potion, and buy Rod of Tahuti for the extra damage.
Finally upgrade Conduit to Archmage, and you will be a big ol Microwave.
Side Notes:
In the end you should have 20 flat mag pen, 20% mag pen, 40% CDR
Normally on Ganesha you are gonna want to build your 2, but while playing the full damage, I found myself using my 2 hardly ever, so I decided that 2 was the least important.
Of course your most important skills are your 1 and 4, so prioritize upgrading these first.
As for your 3, upgrade it for the extra damage, it can be very helpful for securing kills.
The main combo is your 4 > 1 > 1 in late game. This will almost always destroy any squishy and deal a lot to tanks as well. If not, they will be low enough to get killed by auto attacking allies.
Another combo is 3 > 1 > 2. This works well early game to knock up, do good damage, and then retreat pretty effectively.
Just know, dont do into this game getting a lot of kills. Your burst damage is going to be the difference maker in team fights.
This is also the most effective zone in the game. If your team needs to retreat, throw your ult, if they are smart, they won't chase through the ult, and if they do, they should be low enough to be finished off.
Also know this is a very meme build, but is a lot of fun. I would recommend you to fully know Ganesha's kit and know how to play him effectively in support before trying this.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know, this is the first time I have tried optimizing a build for a god. I think it turned out well, but give me tips and suggestions in the comments, thanks :)
