Hello, my name is Orbmaniac. and i have been playing smite since release. chasing the 3000 games played milestone and have been playing mid versus some of the best european Smite teams.
i stopped playing smite actively summer 2013. i recently joined team outdoorgaming since i really wanted to play allitle more serious again. Me and marki decided to share our hindsight of the gods we feel good at. check out one of his excellent guides at ne zha.

This build is very wall of texty, if you need amazing images and colours to keep consentration or just have a minute to spare. then i encourage you to read another guide.
Agni is a ranged magical God that fits mid and solo and have much mobility and range. Agni have a great clear after level 5 that cost little to no mana.
Combustion
After hitting with 4 basic attacks, Agni will gain a buff. On the next cast of Flame Wave or Rain Fire, all enemies hit by those abilities will be additionally set ablaze, taking damage every .5s for 3s.
Affects: Enemy Damage: Magical Damage per Tick: 5 (+10% of your magical power)
Remember to use passive when you clear and harass. The dash and fumes do not proc Combustion.
Noxius Fumes Passive
Agni summons a cloud of noxious fumes at his ground target location, doing damage every second. Firing any of Agni's abilities into the fumes detonates the gas, stunning all enemies in the radius.
Ability: Ground Target Affects: Enemy Damage: Magical Radius: 20 Damage per Tick: 10/20/30/40/50 (+5% of your magical power) Fumes Duration: 10s Stun Duration: 1s Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 Cooldown: 12s
Noxius fumes are not good for lane clearing or damaging gods. the only real use is for stuns. sometimes you can also put it down to AOE slow with gem. the best offensively use for it is to ult and quickly place this under the meteor before it hit. this is not that hard as you have 0.8 secounds to do it, if im not mistaken the fumes will hit the gods with 1 tick of damage as it is laid down, and will therefore also proc Spear passive on people hit. this ability have several defensive uses. Against some gods its not enough with dash to escape (like a fenrir using brutalise
) then you place down a fume on yourself and dash. this will stun everyone inside the fume and get you far away from your foes.
Flame Wave
Agni summons a wave of fire in front of him that scorches all enemies in its path. Ignites Noxious Fumes.
Ability: Line Affects: Enemy Damage: Magical Damage: 90/140/190/240/290 (+50% of your magical power) Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11s
Flame wave is your main bread and butter DPS ability. it procs you passive combustion and dont really do much more. use this ability on whatever you need to kill.
Path of flame Path of Flames
Agni blazes a path forward in a quick dash, leaving flames trailing behind him. Any enemies passing through the flames catch fire and burn for damage every .5s for 2s. Ignites Noxious Fumes.
Ability: Line Affects: Enemy Damage: Magical Damage per Tick: 20/30/40/50/60 (+15% of your magical power) Path Duration: 3s Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 Cooldown: 15s
Path of flame is in my opponion the best dash in the game. this dash is 100% cc-immune and therefore can be used to get out of almost any pinch. here is 3 very normal pinches mid.
1. tyr gets behind you either by walking or blinking, and he is about to push you. you dash right trough him. even if he use fearless
you will not be affected.
2. chronos puts his stop time
on you, right before you get stunned dash so that he can not get you with his time rift
and AA you.
3. Ao Kuang manage to get a Squall squall on you and are putting down his tornado tornadoes. you dash and manage to get to safety.
Rain Fire
Every 20 seconds, Agni gains a flaming halo that can be expended to summon a giant meteor at his ground target location. He can summon 1 every .8 seconds. Ignites Noxious Fumes.
Ability: Ground Target Affects: Enemy Damage: Magical Radius: 20 Damage: 175/215/255/295/335 (+60% of your magical power) Max Halos: 3 Cost: 0 Cooldown: Dependent on Halos.
this ability have 20 sec cooldown and cost 0 mana. a minion wave spawn every 30 secounds. so you get 1,5 halo per wave. make sure you spend it clearing (with passive). get in a harras when you can. this way you can easily outsubstain other mids. but pre 5 you might have problems with clearing. dont be afraid to let the tower eat allitle damage. as HP is the only thing you dont have loads of.
I am sure you are thinking: silly you! you added spear and void stone twice! the reason i did that is since versus physical gods its no reason to get Void stone before spear (yeah you still want it). And if you dont think you will take any damage early going fast spear can give you that extra dps.
lvl 3 magi boots and Obsidian shard vs 40/90 mag protection = 89.4%/68.8%
lvl 3 magi boots and focused void vs 40/90 mag protection = 100%/66.6%
lvl 3 magi boots and spear of the magus vs 40/90 protection = 121.9%/81.9% damage done.
as you can see its no reason to get focused voidstone over spear early if you are versus a physical mid. i am going to do some testing where i get Breastplate of valor as third item Versus Physical mids. As i belive cooldown are very underrated on agni (top guide dont even have any cooldown items
you want atleast 1 Cooldown reduction item, you just have to find the one most suited for your game. Taking chronos pendant late or a mid game Breastplate of valor instead of a gem will really help.

added wards but smitefire havent uppdated the ward icons so be sure to buy the right wards. and do not trust the ward color.
