Poseidon's Skill Order Notes Okay so the best max is of course the Trident this is a basic attack build after all followed by Tidal Surge over Whirlpool only because more burst is always a plus even if burst from abilities isn't the goal.

Introduction

I should start this introduction with a little info on the build. It isn't for ranked play or conquest! So don't expect to make magic happen when you use it, if you decide to take Poseidoninto ranked use his burst build. Secondly I would like to say why I'm even making this build guide. That one is simple, the only other builds I have seen on this are either outdated and missing some things or simply just don't seem right for what you're trying to achieve with it. So I hope in reading this build you find some use and if you have any feedback at all let me know, also if you have any other builds you'd wanna see set up I'd be happy to make one as well.

Skills

The skills are all pretty standard for what you would expect with a attack speed build as Trident max first is what you're aiming for, the second thing should be maxing Tidal Surge as it offers more burst because you still have quite a lot of magical power. Then your Release The Kraken! should always be leveled whenever available.

Items

So the item choice is focused around attack speed and damage from Telkhines Ring . The other build I had seen used Demonic Grip first item and completely left out Telkhines Ring I'm still up for choice on even using grip at all but it still is a good item for the protection shred and for the attack speed it gives along with the 75 magical power making it a solid item. You could do without it and just replace it with Spear of the Magus as it offers a sort of protection shred while giving more Magical power to help boost the damage of Telkhines Ring Really a lot of this build depends how you wish to play it and quite a few of the items are not concrete in the build. I won't knock my build too much as it still works well and does as it should. As for the other items I used they really are just obvious choices for the build, things like Rod of Tahuti because of the massive magical power at 160 and another plus 25% when the target is below 50% health 30mp5 isn't too bad either. The other item being Gem of Isolation its 90 Magical power is good but mostly it's used for the "stick"
Once you apply the passive from it with a basic attack you can chase them down this also works for disengaging in team fights.

Ranked Play

Would advise against using this build in ranked, it's a fun one to mess around with but if you're going to be playing Poseidon in any ranked mode use his normal burst build. He is still a very strong burst mage outside of the attack speed build with some of the best aoe in the game.

Pros / Cons

Pros/ Is very fast especially with full passive meter, Still surprisingly strong even more so late game, all around good fun playing him this way

Cons/He is so squishy in fights, easy to target being so close to fights along with the first con makes it even worse, it takes some time in game getting his build going.

Summary

The short and sweet of this whole build/guide is that playing him this way is a lot of fun and can still be usable while having fun. He has a lot of speed and power, along with things to help lock down a god, or chase to their fountain. In ending this I will say at least try this build out for yourself a few times and let me know what you think of it or even what can be changed.
