My Thoughts

Poseidon has great push potential and is extremely fast and i feel this build maximizes his potential.

Items

Vampiric Shroud - a must for any mid
Boots of Focus - Great for spamming ability's and for movement speed
Gem of Iso - High priority item due to great synergy with whirlpool
Book of Thoth - Mids should always have a stacking item due to so many last hits
Demonic Grip - Great for getting Posys tide up for more dmg
Polynomicon - Works with trident for lots of dmg
Rod of Tahuti - Great DMG get last if your not far ahead in gold
Pure Beads - almost guranteed there gonna have cc and cc is a squishys worst enemy
Sprint - Works great with posys high movement speed you wont be caught unless ur ccd

FYI - not all late game items are set in stone they are situation dependent and these are just ideal items under the right circumstance

SmiteFire & Smite

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
