Rama is the epitome of a hunter: focused on dealing damage mainly from basic attacks, has an attack speed increase, has insane DPS, and a skill shot ultimate. This guide will cover Rama in the carry/ADC position, but you can adapt this information easily for other gamemodes, not just Conquest.
Death's Toll is the go-to starter item for most hunters, as the sustain granted from it is so valuable in mitigating poke and keeping your health topped off.
Bumba's Mask is practically mandatory, as the extra damage towards jungle monsters increases your camp clear, plus the sustain granted from killing them helps you to clear more jungle camps and to sustain yourself in lane too.
Build Path #1
Warrior Tabi is a good choice of footwear as the extra physical power will increase your poke, burst, and DPS, early game. Late game however, I would consider selling it for Ninja Tabi, as the attack speed late into the game will do more of a difference DPS wise than 20 extra physical power.
Devourer's Gauntlets are built due to their good early power spike. The amount of power it provides for the price of 2000 gold is great, plus the lifesteal is nice too.
The Executioner is a great item for hunters at the moment, since it provides 3 important stats for hunters, physical power, attack speed, and penetration. It is also fairly cheap.
Qin Sais is an excellent item in a build focused around attack speed and penetration, as you will be able to apply its passive effect very frequently, and will be dealing near true damage, with all of the penetration you have.
Titan's Bane is a great item for still having good DPS versus structures and great DPS versus tanks.
Odysseus Bow is your last item and it will drastically improve your DPS with not only the sheer amount of attack speed it provides, but also with its damaging passive, which will add up over time. However if the enemy team has strong healing presence, swap it out for Toxic Blade.
Build Path #2
Ninja Tabi is chosen for this build path over Warrior Tabi because your full build will be lacking in attack speed. Hachiman does have an attack speed steroid, but one attack speed item isn't won't suffice, if you want maximum DPS, and if you're opting for a crit build, you probably do want maximum DPS.
Rage is built here due to its low price, but also to start building up the stacks of crit. Rage is also essential for a crit build due to offering the most critical strike chance out of one item.
Titan's Bane is a great item for still having good DPS versus structures and great DPS versus tanks. However if the enemy team has strong healing presence, swap it out for Toxic Blade.
Last but not least, Deathbringer is built last to round out the crit build, while also being the best option for DPS since it increases the damage of crits.
Bloodforge is fine for fast paced gamemodes such as Arena and Clash, but not so much for Conquest.
Ichaival can be an okay option but remember that you will not have nearly the same level of a boxing advantage as you would have pre-nerf.
Asi is fine to build though make sure you aren't overcapping on attack speed and also make sure to have a good amount of physical power before hand.
Transcendence isn't the worst item to pickup. Note that the only things that will be affected by the high power is your basic attacks and ultimate, as Rama does not have a normal ability. The mana sustain can be helpful too but typically I'd recommend ignoring this item unless you have insane accuracy with your basic attacks and ultimate to make it a worthwhile purchase. Similar story with Shifter's Shield.
Atalanta's Bow is terrible. Gives little for the price, and the speed buff wears off quickly.
Wind Demon and Poison Star are good items in a crit build if you value the increase in movement+attack speed or the slow+damage reduction. Though that comes at the cost in price (Wind Demon) and with weaker item stats than other crit items.
Land basic attacks...that's it.
When boxing, you don't need to use all of your Astral Arrows all at once. Abuse the slow it gives.
Try to keep a few Astral Arrows on hand at any given point. This will be handy for boxing and clearing waves.
Remember that your Astral Arrows pierce through enemies, both minions and gods, and also can go through walls.
Consider your positioning whenever you use your ultimate, Astral Barrage. You don't want to end up using your ultimate, only for the enemy Scylla who you didn't see to have a Crush ready to kill you. You can also cancel your ultimate prematurely, if needed.
