Introduction

Hello!

This is my first guide, so let me know if this needs any improvements. Criticize me if you must, but it's all in the name of helping fellow players to perform better in Smite (possibly in other MOBAs as well!). You can find me as Comediatic in Smite.

So hello again! And welcome to this Introduction to Smite Conquest

Accidentally published this, while it's in WIP.

What is Conquest?

Welcome to Conquest, a battlefield of 2 teams of 5 competing against each other. With each team having their very own set of duo laners, a mid laner, a jungler, and a solo laner.

DUO LANE

A duo lane resides on the lane with the towers of longer distance between each other, which you can see on the map, exists on the right lane. This however varies on which side your game decides to spawn your team on. So always look at the map first.

A duo lane consist of two members: an ADC (Attack Damage Carry), and a support. Hunters are usually the more profound, and mainstream ADC players. Other gods with strong basic attack damage and/or mobility are also used as an ADC in Conquest gameplay. This includes gods like Chronos and Freya. A support is usually there to assist the ADC to secure, and obtain kills, keep them safe from harm (i.e. ganks) as well as taking most of the damage from the enemy. Their whole gameplay priority is to rotate, protect their teammates, and engage first on teamfights.

Guardians (or tanks), warriors, and healers are typically chosen to be supports, as they can help assist each of their teammates across the map with ease. This means you are the backbone of the entire team. Responsible to obtain objectives like the Gold Fury and the Fire Giant. You typically start the game with a Watcher's Gift, Hand of the Gods active, and wards. Athena is one of the more preferable supports in Smite. She has strong defense, good damage output (depending on your build), and high mobility. Her ultimate allows her to transport herself to any allied teammates across the map with an output of considerable amount of magical power. This means that any time while her ultimate is active, she can help anyone of her teammates to push, gank, or assist to eliminate enemies.

It is important to let your teammates (especially your ADC) take last hits. This is where your starter item, Watcher's Gift comes in play. You receive the same benefits as you would if you were to get last hits. Moreover, your ADC will often build stacking items like Devourer's Glove, Heartseeker, or Transcendence. You get stacks by obtaining last hits.

MID LANE

A mid laner is responsible for having a strong late-game lead. They are the front-line of the entire team. Typically a magical carry (or also known as a Mage) will be situated in this desired role. Famous picks include Agni, Ra, Nu Wa, Aphrodite, Nox, Hades, and Vulcan. They rotate quite often, depending on the situated outcome. And their primary goal is to survive, out-farm the enemy, and obtain mid camps.

(Referring to the map) The mid camps are located on the sides in the middle lane at the centre distance of the enemy and allied towers. Also known as mid harpies, these provide the most experience and gold compared to the back harpies or XP camps (the camps with 2 smaller harpies and 1 large harpy which reside behind the power buff and the speed buff). They respawn 3 minutes after completion so it is up to the Jungler and the support to help obtain them for the team.

JUNGLER

The Jungler is prioritized to help gank lanes, eliminate objectives and enemies, and help obtain mid camps. They are typically assassins. Common junglers include gods like Bastet, Freya, Ne Zha, Nemesis, Thanatos, Kali, Tyr, Thor, Fenrir, and Serqet. New profound picks include He Bo, Ymir, Ares, and Athena. Basically, any god can jungle, as long as they are able to gank and obtain objectives. They usually engage somewhere between the middle and last of team-fights. And it is recommended to feed your jungler to intimidate your enemies more. They consistently rotate within the jungle as well as defend lanes.

SOLO LANE

Your objective is simple and direct:

    Secure your lane

    Out-farm your enemy

    Take down the enemy tower
After step 3, you basically roam like you would as a support. Assisting your teammates as well as checking back on your lane to see if an enemy is pushing or if they haven't returned in a long time (which would be they would be roaming around the map as well).

Rotations

DUO LANE

ADC (Attack Damage Carry)

Depending on the side of the map which you spawn, if you start at the heavenly blue all-haven bright place, then immediately proceed to the blue buff camp on the left side of the map and await for your support to assist you in optaining your Mana Buff. After of which you begin farming with and against your enemies in your lane. If you start at the hellish, wooden, fire side of the map, then you help your mid laner obtain the midcamp, WHILE YOUR SUPPORT HANDLES THE BLUE CAMP ALONE (This is why you will require your Hand of the Gods active in the first place, supports.)

REMINDER: THE DUO LANE IS THE SIDE LANE OF WHICH A GREATER DISTANCE BETWEEN TOWERS

After getting about 3/4 or have your stacks done, you should begin roaming, or if you haven't already pushed the tower, continue to do so. This situation is varied, and can be altered to your decisions. If your midlane is in trouble, and you are free to help, then feel free to invade the middle lane. If you have built full stacks on Devourer's Gloves, and you have reached at about level 14, you are able to solo the Gold Fury objective.

Upon getting the last hit, or obtaining the Gold Fury objective, each member will receive 300 gold. A total of a 1,500 gold pool for your entire team.

After you have completed these objectives, feel free to roam, or push the second tier towers. And please assist your support in warding. You have two free consumable slots, and you don't need to purchase mana potions, because you are not supposed to be using your abilities that much anyways, you are going to receive a blue buff to begin with. Not to mention that your support will probably have the least gold and the least farm, so assist your support in any way possible. And don't expect your support to come rescuing you all the time.

SUPPORT

You first start by helping your hunter get his or her blue buff. After of which you stay in your lane for about three minutes (or until the timer strikes 3:10) which then it is recommended that you head to secure the midcamp for your team. If you haven't already known, the midcamp respawns every three minutes. If your lane is in a struggle, I wouldn't recommend immediately roaming the jungle. After of which you have the ability to assist your other teammates (i.e. gank, save their lives, secure kills, etc.) you are free to roam and help other lanes.

My personal favourite support is Athena. She has high magical damage output, high defense, and great mobility. Her ultimate allows for her to transport herself to any allied gods on the map. What I would like to do is stay in the lane until I reach level 5, head back to the base, get some wards and some potions, and other necessities, and ultimate myself back into the lane.

During mid to late game, you basically rotate, check in back on your hunter, and vice versa. Don't be afraid to take XP Camps, as you will need them to follow up on farm. That is unless you decide to build Mida's Boots, which is not my favourite item.

As a support, here are a few things to follow:

You are responsible to get the active: Wrath of the Gods as early as possible, to be able to steal and/or securely obtain objectives

You are responsible to help your teammates

You are responsible to put your teammates first before yourself. (Yes, this means being a pre-school teacher and putting your life for your teammates.)

You are responsible to enter or engage teamfights first (Unless someone else strong enough decides to go in first :/)

You are responsible to be aware of the map at all times, and to check and see if objectives are available or if allied gods are in trouble

You are responsible to clear dilemmas (i.e. Should you choose to defend a middle lane with 3 opponents and troubled teammates, or should you help your dying ADC against the enemy ADC and support?)

You are responsible to help obtain buff camps FOR YOUR TEAMMATES.

You are responsible to help steal or defend objectives if you are the first or the last one alive during the enemy's expedition of securing the objectives (Gold Fury, Fire Giant)

You are NOT responsible to take care of everyone. You and your jungler need to co-operate with this.

You are NOT responsible for the loss of objectives. The team cannot always expect 100% from you (Yes, we're all human and we make mistakes. Deal with it.)

You are NOT responsible to take your teammates buff camps (i.e. Power Buff, Speed Buff, Mana Buff). This is unless your team has obtained objectives on the enemy's side of the jungle, of which you may be free to take)

You are NOT a personal bodyguard for your hunter/adc

You are NOT meant to stay in your lane for long periods of time

You are NOT meant to ward for the entire team, all members of the team are responsible for warding, and it is not solely dependent on you. (I am looking at you, ADC's.)

You are NOT responsible for feeding. Well, unless you decide to make pretty horrible decisions. But if you have a K/D/A of let's say 0/4/7, that's is pretty normal.

You are NOT responsible for everyone's death. This although, can be varied.

MID LANE

Again, depending on which side of the map you spawn, if you spawn at the heavenly side of the map, then your solo laner (these days together with the jungler) will help you obtain your midcamp objective on the right. If you spawn at the hellish side of the map, then vice versa.

Again, you need to be aware of mana conversation. You are not advised to spam your skills (unless it benefits you, obviously). You are however, advised to ward your map, and keep track of the time. Again, the midcamp spawns every three minutes, and it is advisable to secure them before the enemy jungler or the enemy laner does. This is altogether collaborated with the help of your jungler and support.

Your lane is the jungler's favourite spot to gank. This is because you are holding the shortest lane in the game, which means the most vulnerable to the Phoenix. It is advisable to have a Purification Beads active, or an Aegis active to defend yourselves from enemy abilities, especially crowd control abilities.

Whenever your enemy laner is away, you absolutely need to call missing, and choose to either push your lane or follow your enemy and help defend or attack whichever lane he or she is heading.

You don't rotate much until late game however. This is because most teamfights take place in the middle lane. Your jungler or support will help you obtain your power buff, and often call on you to collect it when it is ready. If your power buff seem to be missing all the time, it means your jungler, support, or solo laner must have taken it for themselves. This is a bad play.

JUNGLER

You usually start the lane by either taking the speed buff, and mana buff, with your fellow solo laner. This again varies with which side of the spawn you spawn on. This means that if you spawn on the hellish side again, you will typically either solo your red buff or help obtain the midcamp objective, of which then you reserve the red buff for your midlaner.

After obtaining the buff objectives, you stay in lane with your solo lane god, and farm and push until the clock strikes about 2 minuets and a half or so, which then you begin roaming.

Here is a list of what benefits of each buff provides:Courtesy of Jordenito's Guan Yu Guide

This is a map containing the classic route for a jungler:

I like the I'm looking at you ADC but the support is the person who needs to ward the mana camps on duo. Unless the ADC is so much ahead you can go for some wards but if it's pretty tied you will put yourself behind. but normally the adc doesn't want to get delayed so the wards will start coming after the build.

EDIT: Also because of the roaming you should always take midas as support (because unless the jungler can spare one of the XP camps you're putting him behind)

I think you did pretty well, especially for your first guide. also i would like to thank you for recognizing hades mid as a viable option. many people dont believe me when i try to explain it to them. i dont really have much in the way of feed back other than maybe put a little more description into the jungler rotation section.
