So you may be wondering, a build? Great! How do I use such a thing? Well, after getting to the point where I have positive K/D with this build, I think I can explain that to you. You've heard of a Glass Cannon build, Janus is very similar, except Janus has all the snips and the snipes while being extremely weak healthwise. He is the equivalent of a Cracked Glass Sniper Rifle, high damage, fast, and easily broken. So, how do I keep said Janus from, well, breaking? The first step is learning about Dodge. When in battle, you are in Dodge. If you are in battle with allies, great! Dodge is the place to be! Just stay a little back and pick people off with your second ability. However, if you are in Dodge alone, or you have very low health in Dodge, then the time has come to get the f*** out of Dodge. Getting the f*** out of Dodge is rather simple. Activate Sanctuary, then get to the nearest wall, using Sprint if necessary. Portal the wall and use said Portal to get the f*** out of Dodge. After all of this, you're probably wondering, where are all of these snips and snipes I've heard so much about? Well, that's where your Ult comes into play. Janus Ult can go all the way across the map, as well as go through walls. So ready, aim, FIRE! Hit your escaping enemies from one end of the map to the next, and set up portals along the way. And that, is how you Janus.
BUT XENITH! Yes? Why do the items build thataway and not thisaway and- shhhhhhhhhhhhhh, shhhhhh it's okay. Janus needs sustain in order to survive many enemy attacks. Build your magical lifesteal early on, or gods like Hades will Death From Below you all over the place. And it will hurt. A lot. That's why Bancroft's Talon is the first item you build all the way to. What happens next is based on preference. Speed or Power? Personally, I would build power, so the second item I build towards is either Rod of Tahuti or Book of Thoth. From there go to Pytahgorem's Piece, Soul Reaver, and end with Spear of Desolation.
YOUR ABILITIES SHOULD NOT BE MISUSED!!! I cannot stress how little people use the potential of Janus abilities. For example, Unstable Vortex can be shot through walls, and late game has almost immediate minion clear. The intersections are the most powerful points in this attack. Portal is not just for movement. Use Portal to kill minions, trap and damage gods, and charge your Unstable Vortex and Through Space and Time. They do extra damage after traveling through a Portal. Threshold can be used to both slow enemies and speed up allies, both minions and gods. Attacking enemies who have crossed Threshold with your basic attack will increase your attack speed temporarily. Through Space and Time can be used for the snips and the snipes OR quick god transport. Fire your Ult through the map and your whole team can charge through.

And now when u have boots for mobility u dont need Sprint anymore and u can get Purification instead.
not necessarily true. Depends on how much protections an enemy has built.
I would agree on buying Obsidian Shard for Janus though.
Only reason to get it obby is because it's the cheapest of the Magic Focus tree and the power it provides.
