For solo laning you mainly want a god that can clear waves in a short duration, and can take a load of damage from any pokes also pokes from the occasional 2v1 scenario.
The main gods that are used for solo lane at the moment are:
* Vamana
* Hercules
* Odin
* Guan Yu
* Loki (as long as he is in a 1v1 scenario)
* Ra
* Neith
* Chronos
* Anubis
With the gods that are posted above you should be able to pick at least 3 to learn, this is because if anyone here goes into high tiered ranked games or even competitive play, they can still select at least 1 viable god.
The main things to do in a solo lane is farm up. although you might be having you're tower pushed and you aren't getting any gold, it doesn't matter as much as long as you get farmed up in XP. another thing to do if that you can call your jungler to gank and ensure you can get your lane pushed up and possibly turn the lane around.
Another thing to do is to keep a teleport scroll in your consumables, in-case you have to rotate to another lane and bring your team back into a team fight that they might be losing.
a third thing to do is to buy wards and ward your lanes jungle, this is to prevent from being ganked and also can prevent enemy junglers getting your buffs, or even theirs. The places to ward in the jungle is at your blue, and at the enemies, not in between because then you have all three entrances covered.
The 3 essential things to buy first for any solo laner (with exceptions of Loki and Ra) is:
* Mark of the Vanguard
* Hand of the Gods (Tier 1 = Lvl 1 - Tier 2 = Lvl 10 (around 8 minutes) - Tier 3 = Lvl 15+ (around 15 minutes))
* 6 Potions (3 health + 3 Mana)
Through out the game you will back but after you stop using health potions you don't need to buy them, and you'll soon after not need mana potions, so you can swap out the health potions for teleport and the mana potions for wards.
Yes, if you want to sustain your lane you want to try and get the blue buff from the help of the jungler, other than that the only buffs you should get is gold camps and Fire Giant.
Although if you're solo laning with Loki you might want to pick up red every now and then - when the jungler doesn't need it.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.

this may be the case, although you only get 1 ward per cooldown - which normally doesn't ward your entire area - it may save you money, but would only be sufficent after 4/5 wards. at a first item this wouldn't stop early ganks as much and you would've lost a bit of gold for A: wards and B: pots, where they're needed the most.
Sorry, I meant for it to be bought after returning to the base (the first return). If you are unable to finish the Mystical Mark in one return, the rest of your gold should be used for active items. The idea behind Eye of Providence is to provide wards over the course of the entire game, but with the benefit of not having to spend time walking to the base and back, and taking up a consumable spot. Use it in the early/mid game to gain sight to for the mid and solo lane, and late game for wards to the Fire Giant and Gold Fury. All the while you can have health and mana pots for added sustain.
Because you are the solo lane, you need to be sure to act as bait and not push to far up (as your jungler will no longer be able to gank) but also not fall to the enemy jungler. One ward will be enough to give sight to your jungle-to-tower entrance (the enemies only opening if your soloing correctly). Alternatively, you can place it in the middle lanes gank spot.
also note that even if you get pushed to tower be smart and attak the other minions you get still get some decent gold
yes defiantly. i did forget about that, thanks for reminding me <3
With the addition of the Eye of Providence active item, solo laning no longer requires the purchase of wards. Buying rank one will grant a total of four wards after 6 minutes (effectively paying off by the time you must return to base after the time of purchase). Use this to ward your lane if you do push, or to ward your middle lane when the opposing lane god leaves to gank. By the time your ward expires, you will only need to wait another thirty seconds to refresh. At rank two, you will be able to refresh as they die. At tank three, it provides a THREE MINUTE SENTRY WARD. It might help to include and actual image of where to ward as they are obscure locations based on the popular path sites rather than camp vision.
You should also mention that Mystical Mark is the second item of choice for nearly every situation. It provides a large health increase, good physical defense to combat minions,towers, and ranged gods, and of course its push assist due to its third tier passive. You should only consider buying differently if you are soloing against two magical gods with another magical god in mid lane or jungling (i.e. laning against Anubis/Ares with He Bo in mid or jungling). In that case, definitely go for Bulwark of Hope. Grieves will be your third item (your preference, but make note if the enemy team lacks strong CC) or if you are winning your lane and are confident in your abilities, you can risk Tabi or Shoes.
Tyr might turn out to be another viable solo option, as he has a good heal, a push/pop, 3 escapes and good damage scaling (A Norse Hercules).
