Hello! My gamertag is DreadedEnforcer. I have much experience with Sobek, and use him at high levels of play.This guide will be focusing on playing the god in solo lane in conquest. (WARNING: TRYHARD ALERT) (NOTICE: this build will not cover every item that you could possibly build on sobek solo, these are just my most common items)
Items:
When playing Sobek, mana is a big problem, so unlike most solo laners(who buy health chalice and health pots), we will be buying warriors belssing + t1 breastplate + 2hp + 2mana pots to start us off. Next finish breastplate to give some support towards sobeks mana problems, and give him some CDR(Cooldown Reduction) to assist with clear. Next buy CDR boots. The 10 pen from shoes of the magi is not worth the CDR of shoes of focus. To then gain some damage, void stone is important because it provides you with magical defense as well as giving you and your allies pen towards enemies. Next item is more personal preference. I usually buy desolation for the CDR and pen, but if the anti-heal is needed I will buy divine ruin. Next if the enemy team has atleast one knock-up that isn't an ultimate ability, stone of Gaia is what I would recommend, but if not, mail of renewal provides a similar passive without the necessity of being knocked up. If you did not buy desolation, I would choose between renewal and spirit robe. Now for the final item. More often then not I will go nemean if their hunter is hurting, pestilence if their mage is hurting, or soul reaver if sustain is not an issue.
Relics:
First relics to consider are sprint if they have a slowing jungler, emblem if you have an early game jungler that can gank, or teleport if the enemy laner is a huge bully. Second relic almost always go thorns.
What to level:
Always(Every(and I mean every) single time), start with the 2, then max out the 3, put a pony into ult whenever possible, max the 2, then max the 1.
Pros:
Strong late game
Not countered by many gods
Destroys gods with no escapes
Very strong team fighter
Great peel
Cons:
Terrible early game
Must use only escape ability aggressively
Doesn't do well against high cc teams
Laning phase
Sobek suffers from a pretty terrible early game. Sobek has problems clearing and poking his opponent. During the laning phase, it is important to sit in tower if getting outcleard, and to call out when the enemy is missing from lane. Mana is a big issue for Sobek, so ulting to regain mana is an effective strategy, but make sure to use the ult on a wave or a buff to get the most out of it.
Team Fighting
You are the solo laner, meaning you can finally live your dream of 100 to zeroing their he bo because you don't have to worry about keeping your carry alive as solo, that's supports job. During team fights, your goal is to bring enemies out of position with your pluck and to ult people who don't or have already used their escapes. Also use you're sickening strike to antiheal any enemies that you can.
Zoning
One of Sobeks most useful traits is his ability to zone off enemies. When zoning an objective such as fire giant, use you tail whip to knock up enemies, and get behind them to pluck them away from the fire giant. If all else fails, just ult! ;)
