Introduction

Hi again.

This guide will explain why I believe that Sun Wukong is a viable tank (at least in Arena, but I can see him being viable in any mode)

As usual, if you have any comments, criticism or whatever, don't hesitate to tell me. The only thing I ask is to do it constructively.

Item Build

Building Sun Wukong as a tank will allow you to stay on your target or zone enemies while still dealing a considerable amount of damage.

Reinforced Greaves: The typical tank boots. I don't think this item needs any further explanation.

Magi's Cowl: This item, in my opinion, is very cost efficient, especially for early game. It'll also max out your Crowd Control Reduction, which will give you more opportunities to use your Somersault Cloud effectively.

Stone of Gaia: Now that you've built some health, along with the extra HP5 you get from your Reinforced Greaves, if you're in need of some more magical defense then this is the item you're looking for. It adds up pretty nicely with the health regeneration of your Somersault Cloud, allowing you to get back into the fight after a quick heal.

Mystical Mark: When building Stone of Gaia, I'd like to get items that give me additional health. Considering we already have enough magical defense, physical defense is naturally our next goal. Also, considering you will stay in the middle of a fight most of the time, its passive will further increase your damage output.

Voidblade/Shield of Regrowth: Depending on which defenses you need most, get either of these first. You are pretty much tanky enough already, and these items will both give you some physical damage.
Voidblade: Again, considering you will stay in the middle of the fight most of the time, the passive effect will help other physical gods on your team increase their damage output.
Shield of Regrowth: More HP5. Because we can.

If you still find yourself in need of more magical protection, replace Shield of Regrowth with Bulwark of Hope. It compliments your passive ( Undefeated Body) relatively well.

Skills

The Magic Cudgel: While this may be your most important skill as a damage monkey, as a tank you won't need this much. In fact, you'll barely even use it. Harrassing with this skill will cost too much mana for what it's worth, so you will only be using this after initiating a teamfight, or saving it for when a VERY low health enemy is trying to escape.

Master's Will: This has the same functionality as Sobek's Tailwhip, and you will use it as such.

72 Transformations: This will be your main source of damage and your initiating skill, making it the second most important one besides your Somersault Cloud. Personally, I mainly use the Tiger form to focus down one single target. Ox is very situational, and Eagle will obviously be used for escapes (or chases, but if you have to use your eagle to chase you're probably going to overextend).

Somersault Cloud: Other than the fact that you can quickly cover a distance with this ultimate and deal a considerable amount of AOE damage, as a tank the most important part of this skill is the health regeneration and it will serve as a time-out for you to watch over the teamfight you started.

Also, keep your passive Undefeated Body in mind. Just because you're below half health doesn't necessarily mean you have to back off.

Playstyle

Initiate with the Tiger form of 72 Transformations. Stick close to your target, and if they seem to be getting away before your team can keep them in place, follow up with Master's Will.

If you're already in melee range of the god you want to pick off, feel free to use Master's Will first, so you can save up your Tiger form to chase the enemy down if needed.

Considering the 40% Crowd Control Reduction, you can allow yourself to initiate early, even if your team needs a bit more time to get in. You can serve as a bait, and if you're getting bursted down too much use your Sommersault Cloud to heal up. It may deal AOE damage, but don't hesitate to use it on a single squishy if the rest of your team can follow up.

The Ox form of 72 Transformations should be used when a teammate of yours is getting bursted down by multiple enemies, or when a single enemy is surrounded by minions or deployables (think Bastet, Vulcan, Artemis). You will also be immune to various crowd control effects, so if you know that you can get slowed while chasing an enemy down, use Ox instead of Tiger form.
