Hi guys and girls :)
This is my first guide here, so please feel free to leave some criticism, advice or questions. Honestly, Loki isn't a difficult god to use, but he is one of the most hated gods in the game for many reasons. If you're considering trying him out or just
want to try a build which isn't the predictable penetration one, this one might be for you.
I can confirm that this build is efficient and you can easily get double- and triple kills once you get a hang of it.
Relics:
I pick some of these, depending on the opposition and how I want to play
- Shield of thorns
- Heavenly Wings
- Aegi's
- Meditation
The reason I like shield of thorns, is because Loki has to get close to enemies to deal decent damage with this build. Reflecting damage, using your abilties and basic attacks will leave your targets puzzled by how you killed them in a blink.
Heavenly wings helps you and your team to catch up to retreating enemies, and it allows you to save your Vanish (stealth ability/1) to either deal damage or to escape after you secured a kill.
Aegi's makes you immune to damage, you'll find this useful since Loki is often focused on by other players and since you will take a fair share of damage in team fights and sometimes in 1v1 situations.
Meditation is another option, since you only have one item in this build which gives you some mana and that is Ninja Tabi. It's health restore will also be useful.
Items:
- Ninja Tabi: Provides movement speed, attack speed, mana and some physical power
- Deathbringer: Gives you physical power to make up for Ninja Tabi's lack thereof. It also gives a critical chance, which is crucial to this build
-Qin's Sais: Decent physical power, some attack speed and it's passive allows you to deal extra percentage based damage with every basic attack
-Executioner: More attack speed, physical power and some penetration
-Rage: Physical power, critical chance and a passive which allows you to have up to 70& critical chance
-Hastened Katana: Physical power, attack speed and movement speed, this allows you to keep up with enemies and use basic attacks until they're dead. This is particularly useful when an opponent uses Aegi's to counter your abilties, since you can keep hitting them with basic attacks to keep up with them
Play cautiously during the early game stages, but deal damage every time you have an opportunity. Try to get yourself the attack speed buff as often as you can, otherwise go for the damage buff. Use your Vanish to position yourself behind enemy gods and hit them once BEFORE using your 3(this will apply tick damage which subtracts health for a few seconds after you attacked), then you can use your 3rd ability to deal some extra damage, followed by your ult, unless you need to use it to escape.
Try to focus on low health and squishy opponents to guarantee that you'll get your kills, especially in the early game phase. Keep in mind that you don't have a lot of mana and your abilities don't deal as much damage as they would with the predictable penetration build. You're relying on basic attacks, incredible attack speed and your crits. Try to stay out of sight and pick your targets intelligently. As your build nears completion, you'll be able to play with more freedom and you'll soon discover the full potential of this build. You'll find yourself feeling unstoppable, but your opponents won't be too bothered, because they might not know what this build is capable of. They will close in on you quickly, thinking that you used your abilities or you might be low on mana or maybe even health as well.. but it doesn't matter since you don't rely on abilities in the first place. It's all about the attack speed and crits.
Pros
- Incredible attack speed
- Crits for days
- Movement speed let's you keep up with opponents
- Not the typical, boring predictable Loki build
- Relatively cheap items
Cons
- Low health (Or is it a trap?)
- Low mana (although it's not needed as much with this build)
- Low abiltity damage
- NO cooldown reduction, so you'll have to pick off opponents intelligently.
You're Loki
BUT...
You need to be aware of your team's actions, so you can choose the best opportunities to finish of opponents, or save retreating allies from an overly aggressive pursuer.
This does not mean you're a parasite or that you can't finish off opponents by yourself though. It's about situational awareness, securing kills, but NOT stealing them. Saving allies and communicating with them about what you want to do. Get them some jungle buffs, alert them about incoming enemies, tell them help you gank an unsuspecting or harmless opponent.
Thank you for checking out my preferred Loki build :)
I hope you'll enjoy it and please feel free to comment here and to communicate with me.
