Basically grind and farm till you can upgrade Mace to Jottun's Wrath
Jotunn's Wrath will help you do high damage early game and give you good cooldown, especially since Thanotos is a ability based assassin
Ninja Tabi will give good attack speed since you won't be getting more anytime soone. It'll also help with your next item Transcendence.
Good stacking item for mid game once you fully stack it. Try not to be so aggressive and just farm in jungle to fully stack it.
Once fully stack it will give you a high advantage in damage.
Hydra's Lament will help with trying to finish off someone if your abilities don't kill them off itself. It'll also help with more cooldown.
The Crusher is a good item to up you ability damage and give you more pen and attack speed to do better with your auto attacks.
Okay Titan's Bane will be a great item to deal with tanky players on the enemy team, especially the Support or Solo.
But if you are struggling to survive in team fights or fights in general Asi will be your go to pick. It will either help you survive the end part of a fight, or even sometimes team fights. It'll also allow you to help your team in ganks for much longer.
Heartseeker will up your ability damage even more for late game and make it a little easier to help in banks by throwing in your 1 or 3 to do damage on enemies, or jumping in with your ult
Bloodforge is a good item to get, especially if you didn't get Asi. It'll be a good item if you are getting ganked so if you kill one of the weakest enemies you'll gain enough shield to either escape, finish off whoever else is there or survive till your team comes to help.
Brawler's Beat Stick is an all around good item if anyone, especially the mage or mid, is running life steal. Especially since Thanatos' abilities do so much damage, cutting off any chance of them healing gives you and your team a better chance of killing or picking off an enemy
Blink Ruin is a great relic to use especially for early game. I really recommend to use this relic for Thanatos just to teleport to an enemy, especially for ganking early game, and to catch them off guard to land your one
Aegis Amulet is a good Relic for late game. I say this only because Thanatos doesn't really have any escape abilities to use besides his ult, his 3 and blink. The only thing is his ult and blink will be usually used to initiate fights while his 3 is either used to escape or chase an enemy down. But even then his 3 wont always be there or be enough so I reccomend getting this as your second relic
Purification Beads is just a good relic and I don't think I need to explain when you should and shouldn't buy this relic
Hello so this is my first build I posted and I hope you guys find it useful and helpful :)
By the way read notes they may be very helpful to you for understanding somethings and why I say to add them into your build
When initiating a fight with your ult, once you land hit an auto attack and land a death Scythe to do high damage. This is mainly for early game, but if you do not kill them try to throw and land your Soul Reap to slow them. Once down either chase them down to finish them off, if they haven't by then, or just blink to them.
In Conquest, if you come in a fight with the enemy jungler always try and either throw one auto attack then your Death Scythe or just throw your Deathe Scythe. If you do not land retreat because your Death Scythe is your main damage ability so if you miss it retreat to either teammates or to a fountain so you can either recall or reset your jungle route.
Like I said earlier, usually use your Soul Reap to either slow people, kill them or make it easier to land your Death Scythe. Usually using it to slow them is either when you're chasing someone and just want to get the easy kill by either finishing them off with that or landing you Soul Reap and chasing them to land an auto attack or a few to kill them. Most times you will most likely use and land your Soul Reap to kill someone so
But usually when you blink this would be when you try and hit someone with your Soul Reap to make it easier to land your Death Scythe.
By the way when using your ult don't try and land on your enemy right away because they'll jump away. So, when using it once you have your ult outline over an enemy give it a sec or two to see whether the jump away, blink away, Aegis Shield or just turn the other way to make you miss
What I did not say in my notes. You will also want to use your Scent of Death ability to do more Auto Damage if you didnt kill your enemy with your other abilities yet. It isn't just for running and chasing, it can also be used to do more damage to an enemy since it ups your penetration
Um that's all I really know so I hope I helped

Also you should add Arondight in place of Transcendence for some example builds.
I have a few comments on your build & guide though:
1. I don't think ninja tabi are worth on Thana, but even if you do like them, they are not a must. a much more popular choice is warrior tabi.
2. Most games, getting a defensive item is a better choice over full damage build, again, even if you don't like building it I will recommend at least putting defensive item as an alternative option.
3. You mentioned a few times during the guide that you would use Soul Reap to slow your target, but Soul Reap does not slow, it only silences. Death Scythe does slow.
4. I noticed you noted on your transcendence that you should not be agressive. I actually think that Thana's strong early game encourages you to play agressively early on.
Other than that this is pretty good, your builds are viable (even though I personally think there are better ways to build Thana) and your explanation paragraph is nice.
I can recommend you my own Thanatos in depth guide to help you further learn about him:

(I will appreciate feedback and/or vote up if you like it) :)
I usually run full damage but you're right building some protection is a great idea. I never really tried it but it seems very useful and I notice a lot of people incorporate it into their builds. So thank you for that
Also yeah I know his Soul Reap doesnt slow I accidentally said that instead of silence haha
I kind of meant to use it so they cant use any escape abilities.
And lastly I do think warrior tabi is like great to run on thanatos I just put ninja tabi because of transcendence.
But thank you for your advice and feedback :)
