It's hard to screw up a good arena Ares build. All you basically need is Cooldowns and you're set. As a diamond Ares I have developed my aggressive ways in playing him and I feel this is the best build for my play style. Maybe you will like it as well.
Gotta have those Shoes of Focus and Blink at the very start. You don't need any of the buffs, leave them for your teammates but make sure to help them obtain them.
At start you want to becareful not to overextend yourself. You are squishie at the start and any smart enemy players will now that you're fast tracking your CD items which means you have almost zero defense at start.
After helping teammates with the first initiate buffs, depending if the enemy Mage(who you will likely see initiating the minion wave)is out of position make sure you try to pop a few Shackles into him. I usually hit Bolster Defenses first before Shackling in order to gain more protections. Again be careful at the start since you will be focused hard. You want to just poke and get out.
If you don't already know this with the Shackle ability, if you successfully land one shackle you can land another up to three times.
Hopefully your teammates are clearing the wave effectively leaving no minions for you to deal with. You do not want to touch the minions since this will cause your Blink to be inactive for 3 seconds.
Hang back just slightly and then the very moment you hit level 5 pop that blink and ult the group for easy kills.
If Ult and Blink are available -
Blink//Ult//Bolster Defenses//Shackle x 3//Searing Flesh
No Ult and no Blink
Bolster Defense//Shackles x 3//Searing Flesh
Think of Shackles like a shotgun blast that places a DoT(damage over time) on your enemy. This does awesome damage if you land all three as well as provides a speed boost and a speed debuff and a Cripple effect to enemy's movement abilities meaning they can't use those abilities as long as they are shackled.
Don't burn through your Shackles too quickly. Give a second between each Shackle so the DoT is applied to greater effect.
You don't have to just Shackle one enemy god. You can shackle up to three for greater CC(Crowd Control). I always use all my shackles for one person since I play really aggressive, but they moment I see someone in my way or trying to focus me I will Shackle them.
You can use your Shackle to get away. If you haven't picked up on the pattern by now, Shackles is your bread and butter.
I never use Searing Flesh without having at least one Shackle in an enemy. Searing Flesh for me is just a finisher.
Remember Cooldown is your main stat to build first. You don't have to be at max CD just have at least have the Shoes of Focus and CD Chest plate or Chronos Pendant at the start. And the rest make sure to have Auras since they boost your offensive abilities due to his passive.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
