In my opinion the best starters for cabrakan damage are conduit and manikin, with conduit being the player damage and manikin being bought for the early camp clear. I prefer manikin, but both are solid picks. buy t1 shoes and a ward/mana pot depending on preference.
I recommend you buy these items in this exact order, with some exceptions if you need obsidian shard for penetration. Get either blue shoes or magi shoes (I stick to magi), polynomicon(never change this), spear of the magus or spear o' deso (Spear of the magus got lifesteal so I pick it now), and then rangda's mask (another key item but can be delayed for sixth item).
Ideal picks are staff of Myrddin and sell shoes for rod, but other options are soul reaver, charon's coin, chronos' pendant, obsidian shard, and doom orb. Buy what best matches your situation. For finishing the starters, the only ways to go are archmage's and hidden blade depending on what you bought.
ALWAYS get blink first, and get one of these as your second depending on what is best for you.
You can level the three before the one for better early wave clear, but I like the one for early aggro.
Tap each threat level to view Cabrakan’s threats
Cabrakan is a "guardian" with low damage early game but high defense, thus he can tank hits but won't necessarily be slaying in early game. Your passive makes you and your allies take 5% less damage from all sources. You'll notice that passive meter on the left of the screen. This has nothing to do with your passive, but instead deals with your two. Everytime you get hit, you get a stack of 2-6 protections, and at 5 stacks you get a stun on your two and consume the stacks. Your one gives your next basic attack with a certain time extra damage and a stun. This also gives haste and extra attack speed. Your three is a cancellable AOE circle around you that makes enemies move erratically and does damage. It locks you in place and costs mana over time instead of immediately paying the full price. Finally, your ultimate is a rectangle AOE damage move that makes a semisphere of walls that can break if hit thrice.
Team Fights are not the damage cabrakan's strong suit since his only weakness is CC and mage-ult damage. Ambushes are the key to one shotting people, so blink upgrade is your friend. If you have blink, you engage with it. If there is an enemy that you know is by themself, go for them. But if it's a fire giant teamfight and you know that the enemy have their ultimates up, just RUN. You aren't going to be able to do anything whatsoever.
As a side note, ignore teammates that blame you for them losing because you a guardian with damage.
There is quite a bit of tech that cabrakan can utilize that aren't just combos. For instance, cabrakan can fully stack his two by walking into a minion wave and getting shot with the arrows. You can also use your walls to stack minion waves in order to create a superwave to take towers (although it's kinda a waste. You can oneshot your walls with a basic in order to chase people that dash through.
Onto the combos, in most scenarios you should use you one, then two, then three if they haven't died yet. If you have full stacks on the two, it goes activate one, use two, use one, then three as a last resort. If you have your one/ two on cooldown, use your ultimate into your three and then the one to finish them off when it comes back. If you have no moves left, then don't engage. Without your one, your basics are practically useless.
