Thor is one of the most unique Gods to play and one of my favorites. Keep in mind that this is my opinion and there are many builds/guides out there and they are all situation.
I have written this guide to cover the basic of how Thor is played as well as skill and build explanations and to give an insight into how I play Thor.
Should a significant change happen to SMITE I will edit this guide accordingly so it will always up to date.
If a big change comes up, revisit the guide to my opinion of how the updated Thor should be played and built

NEW - THOR JUNGLE BUILD BELOW
The Guide has now been updated with signifcant visual improvements and tweaking to make it look nicer and easier to read.
Warrior's Madness
Key Bind : Passive
Thor gains 15 Physical Power for each enemy god within 30 feet of him.
Ability : Buff
Affects : Self
Physical Power : 15
Max Stacks : 3
Max Physical Power Increase : 45
When fighting an enemy god, Thor will always have an increase of 15 Physical Power. This makes such a difference early to mid game. If an enemy god comes to help, he will harm his friend by increasing your Physical Power by another 15 points.
Priority 1 : Mjolnir's Attunement
As you can see, I have chosen to level this ability first because of the large damage it can do early game, provided you can hit the Back Swing. After playing Thor for a while, I am confident enough to hit the Back Swing. Only late game does the damage from the back swing become less noticeable.
The loadout I have choosen is designed to combat Thor's Squishyness, while without the cost of decreased power. All of Thor's Tank items give him more Physical Power and allowing you to make better use of his passive by being alive for longer.
Please Keep In Mind That ALL Builds Are Situational And This Is Simply A Template That I Follow
It seems Hi Rez is now happy with the Jungle as it is right now and, over the last few days, I have been theory crafting and, with practice, finally mastered Thor in the Jungle.
Thor is my favorite God but after playing him in the Jungle, I never want to lane with him again.[/colour]
Thor is not for the lane, he is for the Jungle.
I now understand why he is one of the top jungle gods, and that's because he was built for it, unintentionally I assume.
So if you love Thor but feel like he dosen't quite fit in lane, then have a look at my guide, take from it what you will and get out into the jungle and play Thor in the role be was born to play.
1st Item Slot - Warriors Tabi
Total Gold Cost : 2150
Gold Cost Progression : 600 / 735 / 815
Physical Power Increase : 30
Attack Speed Increase : 9%
UNIQUE - +18% Movement Speed (Speed does not stack with other boots).
PASSIVE - You gain +15 Physical Penetration.
A great item for Thor. Gives Physical Power, attack speed and passive Penetration. While it may seem like an idea to use Ninja Tabi as you will use your basic attack a lot in the jungle, the penetration is better for taking on tanks and other gods who will tank against you. Getting kills is very crucial for any Jungler and these boots help you get them, rather than Ninja Tabi.
DISCLAIMER - An Old Picture But You Know How It Is Now :)
1. Start - Your entire team deals with the two gold camps at mid. 2 on one side, 3 on the other, preferable with you in the 3. You will always start out on the right side.
Once finished, right team proceeds to red for you and left GOES TO LANE.
2. Red Buff - Proceed to Red Buff with your two comrades and let them help you get red. This is your first buff. The amount of damage this increases means you can clear out the jungle faster than with speed.
Mid should leave you at this point
3. Blue Buff - Proceed to Blue Buff and give it away to right lane.
4. Right-Southern Gold Camp - You are now on your own. Proceed down to your first gold camp and easily clear it.
5. Left-Southern Gold Camp - Walk there from right gold camp and complete this. Do not teleport in with your one as you cannot clear the gold camp as fast and you will take too much damage.
6. 2nd Blue Buff - SKIP SPEED and proceed to blue buff. Get left lane to help you and give it away to him.
7. Left Mid Gold Camp - SKIP SPEED again and get mid to help you here. If you get there and they have not respawned then wait a few seconds and they will appear.
8. A Choice to be made.
Option 1 - YOLO!!! and attempt to gank mid. At this point you will be low HP and Thor is squishy so keep this in mind.
Option 2 - Go Home and buy 2nd tier boots and a health and mana pot and proceed to do speed then gank either mid or left.
Option 3 - Semi-Yolo Go and do speed, by this point your red only has a few seconds left so you can replace it with speed. Same with option one, your health is low so keep this in mind.
Here are a few hints and tips I have which help me gank easier and keep my momentum going.
1. GANK MID.
Your main source of ganks early game is mid. I find it is easiest here unless you go up against chang'e who can be a ***** to gank. Go to other lanes should you have trouble here.
2. This Is A Team Game.
Dont be a kill *****. If you get a few kills, gank and give the kills to your team. Mid for example.
REMEMBER - They are setting up these kills for you. Without them, you are a dead jungler. Give back to your team with a kill for them :)
3. Initate a gank with your Tectonic Rift.
Use the wall to cut off their escape which keeps them close to your mid and closer to your damage :)
4. You Don't have to gank with your ult.
While it seems like a good idea, I did it myself in the beginning, it is not in practice. If you ult on them, yes you get a stun off but it is only a second and thats provided you hit it!. The second you get in that lane to gank, the enemy will retreat as fast as they can and your wall stopping them is not in place.
5. DO NOT FORGET THE JUNGLE.
In lane, we have a stream of minions coming to us and you take it for granted. When you are a Jungler, your jungle is your lane and if you forget about it, you will fall behind. Go in and attempt a gank, should it fail, go back into the jungle quickly and resume farming.
6. Thor Is Squishy!
I forget it myself but until you get that voidblade and shield, you are easy to focus down and kill. Don't be silly and give a kill to the enemy. Dont feel comfortable ganking? THEN DON'T!

I just don't, get it. The cc, aoe and passive. Why isn't thor recommended as a tank? I've played him quite tanky sometimes and I think it works great
I see what you mean but it would do him a dis-service. His damage potential is too high and there are much better tanks. Ymir and sobek for example. His CC is also very small. Thats why hes a bruiser.
Well as stated above, Devourer's Gloves need stacks to be useful, so getting them so late in the game is not recommended. You've stated multiple times how squishy Thor is and from the looks of your builds/comments, I would definitely go with Soul Eater. Every ally effecting aura also applies to the item wearer (you can confirm this yourself by noticing the buff icon above your health and reading your current stats in the shop menu). By your fifth item, the game would be in its mid to late stages and your moving more into teamfights and taking phoenixes. You wont have time to jungle or stack any items. Soul Eater will grant health and a flat 25% lifesteal as soon as you finish it, as well as the attack speed needed for towers.
As for your sixth item, I would recommend either Deathbringer or another defensive item such as Magi's Blessing. If you do end up far ahead by late game, a defensive item will insure you do still do high damage, but also means the enemy does less/gets less kills/ doesnt catch up. If your even by late game, go for the damage to end it as quickly as you can.
Lastly, I've noticed a typo under Mjolnir's Attunement's description. " it can do serious damage early game so aim is correctly." Nice guide over all.
I was wondering why you were talking about Devourer's Gloves but then I saw I had no deleted my old Thor Jungle Build. I have decided that, with new items over the last few patches, Devourer's Gloves and no longer an item I would use on Thor.
I like your idea of the Soul Eater. A few weeks ago I tested it and found that the aura is stacked on you. While I do like it, I feel that it would only be better than another defensive item if there were 3 Physical Basic Attack damage dealers on your team. Otherwise I would go with a situational defensive item.

Nice guide although I would like to buy devourer's gloves second because you need to stack it. And for your notes, soul eater gives more lifesteal because its passive (25%).
It's passive does confuse me. This is because it says it gives the buff to "all allies within 30 feet" and i am not sure if it includes you.
Also i have changed Ankh of the bear to the second item because the tank plus attack speed is needed on Thor asap and the attack speed makes it better than voidblade as a second item
