items explanations and more

(PERMA BAN MULAN BTW)
to preface I have 30k worshippers on Achilles and have gotten masters in all 3 ranked modes playing him. this is the best build ive had on achilles since old healing glad shield was patched out. It has a very similar play style to that original build

I've had a lot of trouble finding a way to build soul eater on Achilles that doesn't feel absolutely troll to play in ranked. I think I've finally found what works and when i've been playing it in ranked I've found a lot of success.

Bluestone: this item is strong on this patch and receiving a buff next patch I believe this item is necessary on achilles, as it allows him to clear archers with 1 and 3 at around level 9 without having to walk up and auto them. Warrior's axe and sigil beat it early game in brute force during trades, but if you play safe early and clear creeps while trading, it can outscale both of these options.

Teleport: TP big op right now and it allows you take back on bad recall timing and not miss any farm UPGRADE TO T3 AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR THE CDR

Jotunn's wrath: this item was overbuffed to make ability junglers viable against crusher the blend of stats it has allows a high physical power scaling solo laner like achilles to clear MUCH better and the cost is so low that you can often get it before your enemy finishes their first defense item allowing some cheesy kills

Nemean / Genji's : (BUY GENJIS IF INTO MAGIC AND NEMEAN INTO PHYS YOU'LL BUY THE OTHER ONE AFTER YOU FINISH SOUL EATER DON't WORRY) Both of these items are over statted right now in my opinon and they both supply a lot of mana sustain as well as WAY too much defense for their cost. Nemean in 1 slot supplies as much defense as void shield and glad shield together(ignoring health)

Soul eater : this item is hard to fit into a solo lane build especially with jotunns wrath first item being so good on ach. You need to build this late enough that you have defense to survive skirmishes, but early enough that youre not trying to stack it while your team is grouped for gold/fg. building it right after neamen or genji's usually allows you to stack it and not be too squishy that you're constantly dying 1v1 and in ganks

Cad Shield: this is a healing build and character build the healing buff item. this item is only viable in this build because we have 40% cdr, we have enough magic/phys defense to already be a frontline, and we can swap to tank stance around the mid game. ordinarily 35 magic/phys is too low and we need the dcr from spirit robe/mantle but luckily with these other items we can fit it.

Bluestone brooch: this item outscales most of the other solo items 1v1 and hard with this build and achilles passive and 2, it commonly supplies around 60-70 of both defenses once stacked. it also has valuable utility as it's dot lasts 5 seconds and can allow you to track enemies fleeing into the jungle and also track invis. the attack speed allows you to win almost all 1v1s late game, and it can also slow down attack speed on junglers, adc's, and aa solo Laners.

Playstyle: this is a strong bruiser/offtank build it has decent damage without sacrificing much of the defense. In the late game you're gonna want to spam your poke onto back liners to slow their attack speed and stack your defense. your strong tank stats and combat healing should be enough to get you out with your if a guardian starts to lock you down. After escaping a bad fight look for a jungle camp or minion wave to use your combo on. you can usually heal to almost full hp off of one wave. this allows you to frontline, take a ton of damage then regenerate off a wave or jungle camp and get right back to frontlining.

In lane and start: you're gonna want to try and take really passive trades unless you're getting a gank or you finish jotunns AND THEY DONT HAVE AA FULL DEFENSE ITEM! until you finish nemeans/s genjis try to only go in after they drop their abilities on the wave, you are a glass cannon at this point and cant eat the enemies abilities

skill leveling and skill use reasoning

you need to start achilles 1 for the best jungle clear after 4 autos it allows you to kill the blue spawns, and take almost no damage from blue, if you're fast you can kill the harpy that spawns between blue and totem of ku before any of the creeps die, this does depend on matchup though as you can lost pressure to get first totem of ku that spawns at 1 minute.

I recommend skipping your 2 until level 4 as your 3 is your main poke ability and also helps with clear.
Max out your 3 as soon as possible: this ability is a potent gap closer for auto attacks and a potent gap creator when you're losing a trade or getting ganked. The shorter cooldown on this ability makes it a lot more flexible, you can use it aggressively, and still have it up in time to get away if the fight goes south.

I don't recommend maxing your ult, it can be good for the damage, but most of the time its used for the execute threshold which doesn't increase with points put into it

The extra healing on your 2 is more valuable in most scenarios than extra base damage on your ult, and rank 3 and 5 of your 2 it allows you to heal off an extra enemy with each proc.

Why not go Breastplate of Determination over Jotunn's? Even if Jotunn's helps ur clear slightly, ur not getting any tankiness from ur starter early, and without Beads or Blink 1st ur prob gonna be pretty easy to gank. And also u won't have to play as passively if u go Breastplate 1st.

E.g. Corrupted > Breastplate > Soul Eater > Genji's / Bulwark > Nemean > Cad ?

if ur worried about getting ganked you could also just start tank stance. I just did it in a ranked game and it worked really well

I did this at first and found that it was safer and won a lot more trades, but I couldnt clear the jungle so mid and adc were routinely 1-2 levels ahead of me
Breastplate is definitely stronger in the laning phase and for a full tank build but the farm potential with jotunns allows you to be ahead of the rest of the map
