Hello guys, Scott Naaasty here, bringing you another one of my favorite builds. Y'mir is probably my favorite guardian to play, and after looking at many Y'mir builds on here, I decided to share with you guys the build that I typically use and normally do really well with. It is a very balanced build that gives good protections and good damage output.
Pros
High Defense
High Damage output
Great teamfighting
Cons
not super high mobility (speed buff is excellent on this build)
better team fighter than solo fighter
have to be close range to land your abilities
Y'mir is one of the best guardians in the game because of the built in damage to his kit. This means he can build a couple of damage items and a few defense items and be super well rounded. With this build, his 2 hits for close to 600, his 3 hits for 350, and his 4 hits for 1500. This gives him great burst potential. Secondly, his protections are around 215 physical and 160 magical, giving him good front line potential. These things combo great with his ability to put up walls to hunt down enemies as well as freeze them and give him and his teammates a chance to put some major damage on people.
The keys to this build are this: Celestial Legion Helm and Void Stone, they buff him and debuff the enemy. With CLH hunters and other god's that crit will do less damage to him, and when they do crit him, they give him even more damage output, this means when you are getting shot from a god who crits, you turn and fight them instead of running away. Void stone also reduces magic protections on enemies letting your abilities hit even harder. These items combo great with Ethereal staff, which ends up giving you over 100 power because of how much health you have.
An Y'mir with this build is someone not to be taken lightly, because they can burst you down and walk away with barely a scratch on him.
Later in the game, when you get your second relic, I typically get blink. It allows an even greater amount of surprise and ability to catch the enemy team off-guard.
Another great part about this build is it is pretty cheap, only $13,775 which means you can get your items online pretty quickly, which normally isn't the case for most tanks.
Give this build a try, and I promise you that you'll love it.
Can you jungle Y'mir? of course!
Jungling Y'mir is very fun, but it does change the build a little bit. Typically I start with bumbas instead of watchers. Also, I get Wrath as my first relic instead of meditation.
I also typically build the more damaging items first, because you won't need the tankyness of Y'mir until later in the game. You can also opt to have less protections and get more damage, but I really don't think it is needed. I've never had issues clearing camps with this build and i love ganking and coming up behind people with Y'mir. Nothing is quite as gratifying as freezing someone who wasn't expecting it and then getting a kill on them.
Hope you guys enjoyed this build and have fun!
