Replace boots with Ethereal if needed.
Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
SMITEFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new god, or fine tune your favorite SMITE gods’s build and strategy.

Best thing to do for a support is to start with boots like you did. Other starting options are Glowing Emerald (some more health in the early stage of laning), Iron Mail (double physical enemy duo lane) or Talisman (double magical). Usually you will pick up health potions and multi potions to help you sustain. blink is good if you plan to be aggressive and can win the lane, otherwise starting shell is recommended (blink is the relic you want would you potentially need another relic you can grab that one instead of shell).
In most cases you will look to finish boots first as you will be looking to rotate for ganking mid. Most common boots pickups are
If you plan on staying in duo longer finishing your first aura item is an option before you finish boots, otherwise you will finish it after. Usually you will be looking at the all the gods in the opponents team and more closely to the duo lane, jungler, and mid lane.
Usual pickups are:
3rd item will go for Gauntlet of Thebes if you don't already have it.
If you have you can grab one of the aura items in the 2nd pick depending on their full team comp,
go for a "playstyle" reliant item like Relic Dagger or shield of regrowth (if you have a heal),
or if one person is a big problem go for another protection item (although usually the aura will be the choice)
4th item onward build go very flexible. At this point you can grab anti heal if it's needed ( Contagion or Pestilence) otherwise more cooldown in the form of Spirit Robe (only if you have 10% cdr already as you want to have 20-30% after this item) or Pridwen are good situation ally Breastplate of Valor.
5th and 6th are usually your counter build items think Midgardian Mail for enemy teams with a lot of basic attackers. anti heal again. Spectral Armor agaisnt heavy crit. etc.
if the game goes this long pick up elixer of speed and an item that will replace your boots stats (if focus you want that 10% cdr back).
Hope this helps a bit during your experimenting
No boots isn't good in conquest
You can't build runic shield on Ymir
Polynomicon has no place in a support build
Also the vs physical will get you melted by a mage.
Gem of Isolation is a meh item considering the duration
