Alternate would be mage blessing and tiny trinket with balanced potions to match
Rush bancrofts for sustain then chronos for the sick cool down boost. Doom orb will add a little speed while kicking up your power and mana. If you would rather push boots go for them second and pick doom orb as a situational or not at all.
Obsidion shard against tanks or high magical protection enemies.
Spear of magus against medium magical protection.
Spear of desolation if you are melting the enemy or want a little more kick than spear of the magus (with bonus cool down too).
Divine ruin against healers (like a Ra in mid lane).
Hide of urchin for health, mana, and protection against both magical and physical. The health shield passive is very nice as well.
Breastplate against heavy physical obviously.
Genji guard against heavy magical obviously.
No particular order. Joust/ arena/***ult go med cloak, conquest pick your relic situationally.
Doom orb is lower movement speed higher power.
Pros:
High damage
Fun to play
Cool rave skin
Cons:
Squishy
Very slow no matter what
Makes team angry sometimes (saying you stole kills from the detonate ability)
Hey yall, BigThatch here with another new build. This is the "God of the sky" Zeus! Did my best on this one to test through builds playing in game for what I found to be the best for general play. But let's get into it!
Fist off, I personally play with no boots because even with them he is stupid slow. On top of that, ignoring them he gets a big power boost early game (as long as you can stick back instead of foolishly pushing the enemy). But if you would prefer to grab them then go ahead and push them after your sustain or cool down.
Core Build every time and then situationals based on what is happening. Obsidion shard only if they build heavy magical mitigations. Divine for anti heal. The rest are really preference.
If you are getting hit hard early game look towards a defense item after chronos pendant and before doom orb.
Best combo in my opinion is the shield then the bolt right at the shield (if an enemy is in range the hit will bounce back and forth for the 3 stacks) then hit your detonate. That combo does massive damage. Don't be afraid to use the lightning shot right when it comes up as it has a lower cool down than shield. Be patient with the ult as most players have learned how to avoid it. I find it best used as a blocker for the other teams advance or a team fight ender if everyone is really involved.
Always do your best to stay back to the rear of the fight and only really push if you are dropping a combo on someone low health. Otherwise just chip and help your team.
Also never forget to hit your detonate whenever it's available, you will sometimes get surprise kills you didn't know were possible from enemies that ran from a team fight after getting marked.
Very open to questions and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. I still haven't mastered Zeus completely, but find the other guides for him are very old or not very high damage.

Also on skill order have you ever considered switching the lvl 1 and 2 skills? It has higher base damage can hit the whole wave and if placed right you can get the aa procs to help clear the wave faster
(Assuming a lvl 1 start)
Was going to give you a bit more time to respond on this, but there is never any case where no early MS items is a real thing. No pro matches go without them, and no casual match should be without them either. Not building adequate MS because "even with them he is stupid slow" is not a good reason, no offense.
MS is just such a powerful tool. It allows you to get places more quickly (for better rotations, getting back to lane, chasing enemies, escaping, etc.). Even if you're going the same speed or are just a bit slower than the enemy, you're basically conceding the fact that the enemy could be delayed due to CC from teammates...you'll almost always be too slow to stay with a fight or retreat unless you're already close to safety.
His MS is tied with some other gods that have no official mobility (aka leaps, dashes, teleports)...some of which include Anubis, Aphrodite (she's actually 5 base lower), Eset, Poseidon, Ra, and Zhong Kui. Do people ever suggest not getting MS on those gods? No. It shouldn't be that way with Zeus either.
Although your writeup has some good effort in it, I just can't consider this build anything but essentially troll until it includes MS. As such, I'm going to archive this. You are welcome to unarchive if you're willing to add MS. I hope my writeup here is enough explanation that you consider this "constructive," as you've asked.
Also is there any way to get notifications in my inbox in the top right when someone comments on my guides or replies to any comments?
Thanks!
I can archive because I am the moderator. No one else except me or the admins are able to do that.
Notifications in your inbox is still not a functional feature on the site, and I don't know when/if it will change.
