After putting him off for a couple of weeks (I blame the PC crew), finally got to play with newb again, along with some other people I met a few weeks earlier when playing. 4 is a pretty decent crew, so we got into a variety of games.
Figured with 4, Siege would be a good start. Seems it's a little-played mode...only newb and I were familiar with it. Since I link the games, unfortunately it looks like I'm advertising poor play from newb, but he was paired with me and we were solid early. He had solid damage taken & mitigation. Unfortunately, the other team mostly knew what they were doing, and got the better of us in the end...THE LONGEST FREAKING SIEGE MATCH OF MY LIFE (39 minutes). Is that long? I don't know. Seemed long. I was highest damage on my team, but was outdamaged by 2 on the other team...sorta sad about that, since I was with my wifey from another lifey ( Freya).
Did an arena match with Medusa next...that went mostly well. STILL GOT OUTDAMAGED though...by the enemy Kukulkan. Only one death for him...guess we didn't use GGF's strategy. I was too busy trolling the enemy Loki, who seemed like he was out for me the whole night...so many assassination attempts. Every time I approached him, though, he'd run away. That build...*cries* Ninja Tabi, Deathbringer, Odysseus' Bow, The Executioner, Ichaival, Bloodforge. And he still went 9/7/6? WTF?!?
Gotz' friend left after that one, so with only 3, Joust was the way to go. That one ended quickly... Cupid is fun =)
Another Joust, and I was relegated to ADC again. This one almost went very poorly. We seriously should have lost, but I think the enemy wasn't aggressive enough. I only went 8/8/3 (and why the F did I choose Rama for god's sake??? His ult aiming is freaking difficult with a controller!!!). That said, we baited them, got a deicide, and were able to close things out. Whew.
The final game that night, and our last Joust match was a loss. I wanted to show them Dunk Squad Bacchus (Build #3). With 2 magical enemies, I went Shoes of Focus, Void Stone, Dynasty Plate Helm, Gem of Isolation, Mantle of Discord, Spear of Desolation, and replaced Dynasty with Midgardian Mail. It wasn't quite enough, but I'm pretty sure the enemy team was tired of getting belched on. 38,582 damage...outdamaged the top enemy damage via Jing Wei by 10k, while also mitigating more damage than the enemy Terra (WHO WAS UNKILLABLE, F!!!). Was a good game, though.
Last night, got a couple of games in with Gotz. 10/0/6 with Medusa in a Conquest match where most people didn't really know what they were doing (the spread of levels confirms this). People starting in all different lanes, it was normal craziness.
Finally, one of the title references, a Joust match where I hard-carried with Eset in the early game, while our random Fenrir fed. At one point, we were all killed, and Fen tried to surrender...WTF? I was like dude, Gotz and I are both way positive, we're mostly winning, and you want to surrender?!? No. And so he quit. *sigh* We tried, but couldn't win in the end. F that Fen.
Oh well, relatively productive couple of days, and a bit closer to 30. Like...half way...I'm 15 now.
GGs newb and Gotz.
I feel you with the long Siege games though, back-to-back nights I've had Siege games that were just over 45 minutes. In terms of the game mode itself, it has nearly surpassed Joust as my favorite/most played game-mode. I really like the "extensive" jungle it has, I use that word loosely because it's quite oversized to just contain Jungle Buffs.
I really do enjoy the 2v2 lane aspect of the game, makes for a fun game mode with my buddy, considering I only have 1 friend who plays Smite on Xbox.
Lately, I've been using Ne Zha exclusively...except in 2x weekends for stat purposes...he is the latest victim of my "I'm obsessed with this character" syndrome. I'll give him 2 more weeks and I'm sure I'll move onto someone different, as always.
Just want to throw a question out for discussion, do you think that Hi-Rez will look to make the level cap higher in the future? Possibly 60? Or even 100? I don't really know if there is much to gain from levels besides being able to play Ranked Matches, but maybe a milestone system, special wards or recall skins (sort of like what they did for the diamond gods) for being max rank.
Basically by having a god released on PC first, Hi-Rez can see if that god is overpowered, underpowered of balanced and tweak him/her if necessary before the god comes to console. So console players have less problems with "broken" gods.
Though since you can play with Bran you and may also have like a "way-off" TZ and not be able to play together. Ever... rip dreams xp
Other than the Siege, I was solid with Serqet and decent with The Morrigan for the most part. Definitely was nice playing with people who I knew and knew what they were doing. That was the most in party I have played with. (I solo queue a lot)
I must have
kill-stealedkill-stolenkill-screwitdontyoudareTech at least 3 of our Guan Yu's hard work in that Conq match. Also, forgot to point out... Chang'e in that arena match...5 kills, but only did 6k damage? Outdamaged by our Athena?!?
And yes...tanky Serqet was doing hard work again, continuing to prove me wrong.
