Reasons why our fellow forum people don't play the game? Generally because Smitefire's a good forum and will continue to be such, regardless if the game decreases in popularity.
Smite's fun.
Smite is definitely lacking, just yesterday I was in a 3v3 and going 2 and 0, had a feeding He Bo 0 and 5 (Which I didn't mind too much) and a trolling Apollo which kept ulting into the enemy base. Jeez, they always went in alone against their whole team and didn't watch for ganks although my obsessive warding.. Finally, we almost made a comeback when we got a deicide but the Apollo and He Bo both disconnected after they died right before the minotaur was dead. They ended up killing me fast and took the game in less than a minute ._.
Smite can't do much about them, it's just more of an amount of time. I'm sure LoL and Dota have had same problems in the past. So... ye
A lot feel that the balance is simply atrocious.
Others, as Buddha said, are simply bored of the stale gameplay.
Others are disgusted at the matchmaking, or the toxic community, or any combination of the above, plus some other grievances that I did not list.
