Hirez announced that there developing another game, Which is rumored to be called "Paladins".
Which means that SMITE reaches to an end. (Hirez cant handle 2 games a once, Ex: Global Agenda).
But: Good news! Gigantic goes into closed beta in August!
So, I hope to see you all in GoGigantic! (Mowen GiganticFire Plz)
As far as I know, SMITE is the third-most popular MOBA at this moment and is only growing in popularity. It even had the fourth-biggest price pool in the history of eSports (although I do admit that some of this money came from the Odysee). Also, SMITE has recently been launched for Xbox One causing even more accounts to be created. SMITE is far from done for, and even if it would stop being updated (which obviously won't happen since this is Hi-Rez's most profitable game yet), Hi-Rez would still keep servers running since they did that to Tribes: Ascend too. I don't see any problems with them creating a new game while maintaining an older one.
Rofl this tags, this is so cringe
And if they drop smite then I could easily see the end of hi-rez
Um, a HiRez exec posted on Reddit that they specifically intend to continue supporting Smite updates and the Smite professional scene. If they let down the third most popular MOBA, its audience, and its most devoted players, they would lose a lot of credibility. They're far from done with Smite.
They did the same with global agenda.
Idk I think the xbox launch has secured smite enough financial stability to still be the center of hirez's profit
Nope, You don't know hirez good enough. When they start a new game, Its the end of the old one, No matter what.
(still if smite grabs a lot of money they will support it sooner then paladin. don't know what it's going to be we shall see)
