I am currently in the university, learning Psychology/Acting, And i have shown this video to everyone i can, I even emailed a news channel, Hopefully, They saw the video.
I agree with the topic, I think it's very important that students should be able to choose what they want to learn, And about that we need to learn about the things the he talked about in the video, He also answered some things that you might have thought about while you watched the video in this one:
I would love to hear your opinion in the matter, So please, Whrite your thoughts about the video and what do you think that needs to change in the comments below, And before making any arguments, I strongly suggest you watch the second video as well.
(And yes, he does have weird hair.)
note: I'm to lazy to turn of my music so didn't watch the vid.
Well I gotta agree on this and well here in the Netherlands you can kinda start choosing in middle school (high school comes closest to it) depending on your lvl but normally you get to choose a profile (that got some basic lessons for it) + other lessons.
and well when you got to the university you got way to much choice in what you want to specialize. it gets a bit limited by which profile and which lessosn you chose but there is still a lot of choice.
Also in the profiles you do have a lot of core lessons (like well english and Dutch) but also some things that should actually be taught by your parents. the best example here is the lesson that teaches you about thinks like money and religions that sort of stuff (philosophy in life is the rough translation from google).
This is why i told you to watch both videos, You need to in order to understand his point.

Gist: I got into a very desirable high school, was disillusioned with school for many of the reasons stated in this video among other things. Now I'm going to a college that specializes in co-ops (Northeastern University) where I'll get real world experience and that doesn't have much of a core curriculum because of that allowing me to essentially just take courses related to my major (computer science) and things I'm interested in, so hopefully things will be better.
I liked the second video more than the first one though, especially the part where he directly stated "I think we need to fix school rather than stop going to it" (~4:12). He does expand upon this later, but yeah I still think he could've titled the video better lol
My teachers agree with him but some are Meh bout it
yay
