Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.

That said, doesn't mean people still aren't toxic, or drop/ragequit, etc. Seems like you're always going to run into those people, whether it's SMITE, DOTA/LoL, Call of Duty (hahahahahaha) or whatever. In the internet age, people hide behind technology and feel the freedom to be the ****heads they apparently are.
I mean, look at poor GameGeekFan. Similar situation all over the place.
The best I can say is to find friends, and only play if you've got enough people to be in the majority of a group. Personally, I hardly ever solo-queue for ANY mode anymore. I log on, and hope that friends are on. Before I even got to the main screen last night, I got the big bass-y invite sound from Zilby, and we 5-manned 2 conquest games and the MOTD.
If people aren't there, I just log off and play something else...I mean, who doesn't have a ****load of other games in their Steam library? That allows me to play other games here and there, and also avoid toxicity.
Also solo queuing joust (or even duo queuing) is kinda screwing yourself over as a lot of times your against premades.
