I do not have a problem with you, I simply think the high proportion of terrible "release guides" to good "release guides" has jaded your view of their importance. I'm not going to pretend I don't simply like to argue, but I am not arguing just to argue; I, too, want good "released guides" - good ones, not none at all. However, as I have stated my views and you're clearly not open to input, I'll agree that it will be getting nowhere. Personally I'm fine with continuously arguing as I find it fun, but if it legitimately angers you I will refrain from further posts.
Oh God no, I love arguing. I study Philosophy just for it. We can discuss this somewhere else, if you prefer.
Hey Jararo, you should group up with like, famous guide writers, and publish your own guides on day 1 of a god being released.
And instead of being angry at people
just post the link to your guide on their comments section
and say "I win"
and sit back in your chair sipping hot cocoa with the little bit of foam that sticks to your lip, staring out the window at the daisies and birds enjoying nature
I laughed so hard at this. I think I actually might do just that. Next time I see a God I would consider playing, I will do this. I will show my "standard" of a first-day guide, and then I think I have the hot cocoa with the rainbow marshmallows. I love those...
Turnip, it does work, in a sense. I do my best to control my emotions, I truly do. To go further into the subject would be a discussion you and I can have later. The point is, I strive to get the point across that there should be a quality standard to guides, which is very rarely achieved yet those "sub-par" guides are usually praised. This has been happening since early 2013, around the time OddArcade stopped making his rather good guides.
My "ranting" which I know I'm a total ***** about, is intended to get the point across that there should be some quality. Compare the quality of SMITEFire guides to MOBAfire guides. It is clear that a majority of SMITEFire guides are sub-par compared to those that are seen on MOBAFire? Why is this? Because there is little standard due to the plethora of sub-par guides that are found all throughout this site. Those that are held to the standard are few, but worthy of praise.
For the most part, it does work. I feel that I should specify that my version of "ranting" is considerably different from that of others, considering that mine usually involves cheesecake. Nevertheless, when I post on a guide the makers of the guide tend to work to a higher quality guide than they would have if I had said nothing. This is not always the case, but it tends to work.
I will refrain from ad hominem and I thank you for doing the same (for the most part), but do not argue with me. You can hold conviction all you wish, but I know what I am doing and I will not have your incessant need to argue with me get in my way. If I see something that does not hold to the standard that brings quality guides to this site, then I am going to make that known. I can control myself for the most part, but NEW GOD GUIDES are where I lose my cool.
Why? Because people get stupid.
Bad guides flood the site hours after a God is released. It is common and it is infuriating, because even looking at them is a waste of time. I will admit, I can be much better about getting my point across, but if I see one of those guides, let this be known:
1. I will find it.
2. If it is bad, I will not hesitate to make that known.
3. If it is decent and can benefit players of the new God, then I make that known as well.
Any further arguments will allow me to assume that you are simply out to argue, so I suggest that we either keep this private or you and I end this now. While I may be a total and utter *****, I do work to keep this site professional and my blog post was not meant to argue with someone such as yourself. It was meant as a warning, that I will do exactly what those three steps signify.
Lastly, I will apologize for my clearly upsetting manner of portraying my intentions. If you have a problem with me, next time speak with me in private. I will not repeat myself and I am getting tired of constantly battling with you, and it is clear that you have a talent for arguing and spotting fallacy.
