Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
SMITEFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new god, or fine tune your favorite SMITE gods’s build and strategy.

Feel like you should take into consideration what was explained in your comments section instead of acting like you've been attacked on a personal level.
While the general concept of "trying something different" is fine in a general sense, it may be slight hyperbole to say, but just mashing together random items would - in many cases - do similar things to some of your builds. Your builds tend to not have a focus, and the combination of items seem a bit random at times.
Some builds can do well with a "work decent in all kind of situations" (jack of all trades) direction. But usually those builds will also have some form of synergy with the other items and the god's kit. If you're building with a partial damage focus, for example, you might also build some protections to be bruiser, but your damage items should be supported by at least some penetration, for example. In your Horus build, incorporating items such as Void Shield or Heartseeker would fit that requirement. (And not building crits, which isn't a great idea for him)
For people that understand build concepts, it can be easy to tell if a build is going to be effective in a general sense or not. This doesn't mean you can't have some success with a bad build, but each match has many variables. You could be matched up against poor players, or players that have bad attitudes, give up, and troll/feed on purpose. Or your skill level could in fact be so good that you can still do well despite the build.
But people will typically not choose to play with a bad build. Most people, even if they're casual players, WANT to win, and want to give themselves as much of a chance as possible to do so. Playing with a build that has major issues and shortcomings is not appealing.
