Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
SMITEFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new god, or fine tune your favorite SMITE gods’s build and strategy.

Please tell that to all the noobs I find in my parties! o.O
I can't play two games in a row without finding guys that does not understand the simple concepts of roles, lanes, rotations and split push.
Ok, that's on Xbox so it's kinda new for most guys to play MOBA. But still...
Anyway, writing a guide is not always for the readers for also for yourself; to make sure you try stuff before you write them down. That's why I wrote 1 guide. I'm no expert, I'm no pro player, but writing a guide helps me to play better and to keep an open minded.
Again, good luck or something #beachbabe
I kinda disagree with Zilby here in that I don't think Athena needs a guide at all, as the meta builds are obvious, ward spots are obvious, and her kit is obvious. Smite's a simple game.
"Don't forget to use her taunt to peel and to engage."
"Use your 3 and then taunt to deal full damage."
"Ult to teleport across the map, this is why Athena is considered strong."
"Tanks buffs early."
"Rotate when you get your ult, often."
"Loki + Athena OP."
Well, duh.
Pretend, for a moment, that everything obvious is already given. What else is there to explain? What subtleties are there for playing Athena?
Now obviously, there are some subtleties out there, but I believe they're all related to just generically playing Smite, like knowing when to tank minion/towers, when to retreat, when to groupt, etc. Athena herself is simple as anything else, and a lot of those skills are rather intuitive, rather than instructed.
I'd tell you to play ranked, but I literally can't remember the last time Athena wasn't banned in a ranked game in Gold, so...
To be honest, judging from the rest of your guides, I can't say I have much hope for this guide no matter what you decide to do.
Hopefully you'll have some original stuff to contribute though :] Look forward to it!
