Starter Item Purchase Order

Hello there!

The time has come for me to once again update my He Bo Guide for the new season. This, of course, means experimenting with a lot of new items and purchase orders. With the (re)introduction of starter items, a lot of things need reconsidering. Usually, I would not post a blog discussing my planned changes. But around this time of year, matchmaking completely implodes on itself and it becomes increasingly difficult to gather meaningful research in game (as games usually end before I can buy my fourth-fifth item). I could wait until things are fixed, but ideally I would like to have these changes implemented for the season 8 guide contest.

So, to whoever ends up reading this, I would like to know your thoughts (keep in mind all questions pertain to joust only).

First off: Do you see value in postponing boots to your third item in order to buy both a starter item and rush a sustain item (conduit > bancrofts > boots)?

4 Year Smitefire Anniversary

Around this time of the month, 4 years ago, I joined smitefire and created my first (and still only) build. Since then I have grown A LOT and have learned tons about this game and this community. I wanted to take a look back at the first ever version of my build, and laugh at how bad it was, while also remembering the good times.

I wanted to keep it as authentic to the times as possible, but I did not archive that build nor did I have any screen shots to work off of. All I had was my memory.. And my handy dandy changelog. This OG build was recreated entirely within photoshop and probably took more time than it was worth, but regardless..

Let's laugh at 2015 me and his very limited build knowledge. Also happy 4th smitefire birthday to me.

An Unlikely Pair

Me and a buddy of mine have a growing list of "unlikely pairs", where we (for whatever reason) pair 2 Gods that we wouldn't have normally combo'd together, and see if it works or not. It usually stems from one of us thinking of a single OP combo that can be done between 2 characters, and then completely disregarding any reason why it might be bad and trying it out anyway. Through this, we have come up with many God pairings that are either extremely OP, stupid-fun, or just synergize well for some reason.

A few of our favorites include:
Our personal favorite, the combo. (Carry Ymir, support Nu Wa)
The old but gold combo
Our classic combo

Okay, some may not be as "unlikely" as others. But anywho, I'm curious if you guys have any really weird or unlikely God pairings with friends. I wanna know the absolute wackiest combo that actually works together.
