So I'm pretty relieved, finally I can progress through college as intended. In other news, I tried ranked joust again today.

Smite is an online battleground between mythical gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. Smite is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE's battlegrounds.
SMITEFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new god, or fine tune your favorite SMITE gods’s build and strategy.

@Reaux, this professor proxy article pretty much explains this exactly. In general, you want a balance of health and protections, not just one. Before an opponent gets penetration, defense is better (hence why grabbing an early Breastplate of Valor or Void Stone is really powerful). Once an enemy has penetration, you want a balance to be the most effective. 10 defense isn't really enough to make a large difference, but the reason Stone of Gaia is strong is because of its passive generating a massive amount of passive health. Bulwark of Hope is much better for surviving burst damage while Stone of Gaia lets you sustain for extended periods of time. I was also doing it for the MP5 since I didn't build that much mana in this build.
The combination of protections and HP boost you effective health better. I noticed this the most in Dota (as there you have less Hp and armor stacked on 1 item). after getting x amount hp or x amount protections the other is better to boost your sustain.
wat.
Positions are opening now?
They always are, but no one could reach Zilby.
Now I have my maximun amount of baes, 8.
But I think someone, the owner of this blog post, can loose he's IF HE DOESN'T SHOW THAT I'M TRULY PRISBAE
You answer everyone except me Zilbae.
I'm starting to question your "bae" position, bae.

While Bulwark of Hope would normally be a good choice for Sol if I was playing a bursty Chang'e, I was playing a more sustain based version this match (since I know the matchup), so she would have gotten more mileage out of Pestilence. If she had done that she could have also swapped out Divine Ruin for Rod of Tahuti so that she could burst me down better.
The reason she didn't get Weakening Curse was because in a 1v1 situation I can just counterbuild it with Heavenly Agility. If I had gotten my actives before hers then she would have been able to do it since she would already know what actives I was locked into (like how since I knew she had gotten sprint, I opted for Shield of the Underworld instead of picking up Weakening Curse myself).
Thank you very much Zilby. Especially since you had to go out of your way to search for the guide. Ill look this up asap.
Cake and Reau, I'll ask both of you.
Is it better to receive, from hunters, 800 crits or 300 crits ?
I hope that answers your questions
So then Breastplate of Valor isnt such a bad item like people often make it out to be.
And ill take 300 crit plz
If it tells you anything, I still haven't played Sol even once. lol.

Umm... Is the answer Tuesday?
Nah yeah I guess that makes sense. Me and reaux were probably just overthinking things.

Z...wow, there's that much counter-building going on there? But still...I understand Warlock's Sash for the straight up health, and I understand Bulwark of Hope for the protection...but even though you were Chang'e, I don't know if I would have gotten Divine Ruin...for a lifesteal item, I think Polynomicon or Bancroft's Talon might have served better. I mean, we're talking not even 200 health every heal, so it's not really blocking that much for you...
Poly for the basic attack after ability use or Talon for the higher power since Sol has her own heal and will do more as the boxing matches sounded like they went on for a while...I think I would just go to try to out-damage Chang'e. Slow her down with Gem of Isolation, get penetration way earlier.
Shoes of Focus, Warlock's Sash (probably switch those like you did), Demonic Grip, Bulwark of Hope, Bancroft's Talon, Gem of Isolation? I don't know, that sounds sort of weird too...
Not like I would've beaten you though, even with a great build. lol
*shrug*
Generally power isn't as much of an issue in a 1v1, especially against a Chang'e. Remember that I can dodge Sol's main damaging ability every other time (with their respective cooldowns) and my abilities' passive movement speed allows me to evade her ultimate (I think she hit it once the whole game). The reason she got Divine Ruin was solely for the counter-healing, not for the lifesteal/power, so swapping it for either of those items mentioned wouldn't have done a whole lot (in general lifesteal isn't really all that great for a 1v1 outside of hunters and some gods like Anubis, especially with her healing from her 1). If she went straight power I could just evade and burst her down even more quickly (also Gem of Isolation isn't really all that effective on Sol at least considering her 1 damaging ability already has a slow :P). The best option for her would be to pressure me with her basic attacks and try to force me to back, and then quickly burst down my phoenix before I can return. This either forces me to try to fight when I'm at a disadvantage or lose my phoenix (she did this somewhat effectively, at one point she did down my phoenix). Again though, grabbing sprint and allowing me to get Shield of the Underworld was her undoing.
