I really enjoy playing Anhur mid, him and Isis are actually my main mids. His only problem is that early game he is a bit mana hungry, but around level 6 your problem goes away.

I think Chaac mid is still viable, despite much debate on that. Oh, and Hercules is a great counter pick to some mid laners if played properly.

Physical mid laners?
Neith ruins a lot of people...most mid laners don't have sustain and she does, plus ridiculous auto attacks.

Chaac's ult still shuts people down absolutely.

Tyr is hard to get rolling but his combo can absolutely 100-0 someone

Loki USED to be a good choice but has mellowed out tbh. I'd stick to my first three suggestions.

Neith can be utterly deadly in such a narrow lane with proper use of her weaves. They can also be used in the early game to improve her wave clear dramatically. she's viable as mid imo [also great escape.]

Alot of the ADCS can be played mid due to their wave clear like apollo/neith/anhur/ullr.

Certain assassins with good wave clear like bastet can also hold their own.

Anhur, Apollo, and Neith have always been good at it, I guess AMC and Ullr probably could do it as well.

Agree on the Neith comments. I often return to base full on health and mana just because I've got 5000+ gold to spend. Pure sustain... weave blast combo is devastating and once she gets rolling, not many can withstand her.
