I've been playing smite since this past summer relatively consistently. In that time, 95% of my matches have been regular conquest matches, and it's easily my favorite gametype. I usually play alone, and like to play all the roles and try many different gods. However, one thing I've never really tried to get into was league play. I've done two matches, but never committed to actually trying to see where it could take me. For anyone that's taken the plunge into league conquest territory, is it worth it? Is the competitiveness more entertaining? Or does it just sap the fun out of the game?

tl;dr : Do you think transitioning from regular smite conquest to league conquest is a good decision?

I am the most foul, cruel and bad tempered rodent you've ever set eyes upon!.. Oh, her? Yes, well... she's with me.

To answer your question: Absolutely.

I'm only in Bronze III, and I've advanced considerably as a player. League matches, at least when you get out of Qualifying, are competitive. You are playing people either better or just as good as you are.
Playing in casual now, for most of the time, is a breeze for me. It's easy to get ballsy and make stupid decisions and still win in a casual conquest map, since not everyone else is as good as I am.

So I would say it's worth it.

I haven't played ranked yet but remember that (especially in bronze etc) teammates can be hell with blaming you (not much difference from normal CQ sometimes)

No what really sucks is getting stuck in a tier forever, like seemingly being unable to advance because you keep getting stuck in games where people are trolling like its casuals... Like I had a nu wa support a couple days ago... I am not joking

Honestly it's not worth it until you get to the higher divisions like Diamond/Masters. Anywhere else and you can expect matches that aren't much better than casual conquest.

I'll definitely agree on that point but that's about the only perk until you get to the High divisions. The qualifiers basically allow people to get lucky/unlucky (Very bugged system) and get placed in really high, or really low brackets. When I did my qualifiers on this account I won 9/10 matches and got placed in Bronze V and I didn't feed once (I carried in fact). Then some of my friends are getting in Platinum after only winning 5/6 of them and these are people who would openly admit that I'm better at the game. But when I played on my old main back in preseason the platinum/diamond league match qualities were great! Honestly the qualifying system kinda messed up the whole idea of the match qualities being better because it allows you to get way too far based on 10 matches. While way back when, you had to do the grind up and by doing so you inherently got better at the game OR you didn't make it far.

I play conquest a lot too ( my favorite gamemode ), already played a few ranked but coulnd't see much difference ( i played all the qualifying matches some toxic players here and there, ppl requiring curse and don't talking anything on the call but ok.Then i got to bronze I and i played like 3 matches, not much difference too, just some meta fanatics and the match making throwing me to play with gold III and even diamonds), played one match recently and... the enemy team surrendered at 10, just like in casuals ( don't remember why ).

Honestly there are a lot of really toxic players and that doesn't help people win at all

Honestly if you're looking for the friendlier side of the smite community you won't find it in league conquest (Usually). I mean I know I get pretty upset if someone on my team is feeding or playing poorly in my league conquest matches (I'm not gonna get toxic and make a big deal out of it like a lot of people do). But when you queue leagues, you queue to win. It's not the time to be trying out new strategies/builds/metas. That's just my take on it. Leagues is the business end of Smite so I don't go in expecting everyone to be #YOLO #FORGETTHEMETA #BakasuraADC. I'm looking for a game that is taken seriously by all it's participants.
