I know no one really gives a flying $@*# about the motd but is there any reason why there is no tank for the girls' side? I tried a game out with my friend and we were'nt even allowed to pick athena she just wasn't there. and yet we went up against ares, bacchus, odin and guan yu. All tanky as hell have some terrific crowd control (well zoning for odin), and they had a loki to back them up. we got steamrolled and the weird thing is didn't we have a problem before with this mode before and it got taken down? why isn't it fixed? or is this just some weird little bug and the game mode popped up without hi rez knowing?

HiRez has yet to fix many MOTDs. Like the "Blood brothers" Which is supposed to be Thor and Loki. (But a certain post says that should be Odin and Loki. But I believe the latter)

You'll just have to wait till they take notice or that it will be next on their to-do list.

Right now though there're just worrying about Smite itself .

Ehw... i mean the girl side have no tank but the most op arena gods, Freya and Kali. Hel isnt that bad either.

@MadDanny, you don't believe the latter, you believe the former.

Also, who says it should be Odin and Loki? That doesn't make sense.

Odin's brothers are Ve and Vili. Loki is his adopted son from the frost giants, who goes against odin, and ends up killing Heimdall while dying, Odin dies to Fenrir while killing him, Thor kills the Jormungar while dying, and Tyr kills Garm while dying.

Ve = Odin = Vili

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but each team has 6 gods comprised of 4 physical and 2 magical.
I think they did this in efforts to avoid having people stack up a team with 5 magical like idiots.
Plus, if one team goes all tank and one all damage, stuff just isn't going to happen.
I've been playing this game mode all day and it looks like the better players win rather than a certain side being unbalanced.

Eh, not having a tank is a REALLY big deal though, Vald. No matter what the physical/magical makeup is.

It really is unbalanced. Given 2 equally skilled teams the guys side will win most a good percentage of the time.

Girl's advantage
A better healer (Hel v.s Guan)
More damage potential late game (Freya and Kali snowball)

Ares and Bacchus alone make a frightening combo, two hard cc effects that affect a large area. Neither Magi's or beads is a suitable counter alone you need to buy both, or learn to live with one hitting you, since the two of them could just space out their ults bacchus is more than capable of initiating his own.

Freya and Kali don't amount to much either in this mode both require a fair amount of snowballing to become effective. Against this team it's practically effortless to lock one of them down. Bacchus leaps in burps, stunned, Ares chains, Loki throws down his @$$chunk worth of burst damage, boom dead. Plus you have the slow on guan yu, slow on Odin both of them have gap closers, hel's speed buff and cleanse doesn't pick up until later in the game. In the time between level 3 and 5 Freya can be shut down quite easily before she gets her ult up.

Plus the girl's team puts out the most damage by a slim margin. Loki is more than capable of dishing out a team's worth of burst damage, but the big thing is he can choose when to engage given the CC going on. Bacchus's burp? are's chains? can you even get away and if you do can you get away in time before guan ults up and runs you down? Loki has to be exceptionally reckless for you to be able to kill him. all he has to do is wait for the football team of tank to throw down sustain damage.

@Valdemir- I really don't understand your third comment. The point isn't that I want one team to be all tanky and one to be AD reliant. The point is no one on the girl's team has an option to play tank. Hel in some cases can make a good pseudo-tank but not against this team. Her heal isn't potent enough to deal with the heavy sustain provided by ares and guan in conjunction with loki burst. To effectively escape all forms of CC headed at you you need both beads and combat blink (odin ult). (magi's optional) Hel's cleanse is taxed under this you'll miss some.

I agree with most of what asianslikepie says, except for the Freya and Kali statements. It's arena. Snowballing is built in unless the enemy team is just immune from dying. If the game goes how an average arena game goes, freya and kali will end up like they normally would - able to solo a lot. Freya a bit easier than Kali - assassins are pretty unreliable in arena. They either destroy an unorganized group or are useless against a group that sticks together.

Guys team has WAY better CC and teamplay potential while girl side has a lot of damage and better healing.

I played it once today, when I saw the comps I was 100% sure this was a loss . But my teammates did very well and I think the match was a win.

Why "I think?" After a lot of struggling with the heavy lag and 300 ping(my connection is really messed up today, I usually have 20-30 ping) my connection dropped.
